I can listen to the whole song without crying but when Rod gets to the part about "when you want me I'm gonna be right there" or "to care for you" or "and make your fantasies come true" I really see how much Rod cared for Nicky even though he was a slob and made him mad the love he had for him was incredible

Definitely the most underrated song in the musical. It's sad, wistful, and tinged with humor ("Who painted the kitten?"). This song always makes me sad, for obvious reasons. I feel so bad for Rod, especially once he wakes up and realizes that it was merely a dream. :'(
