And I see your face in the fog now
The waves are crashing down on me
And I see your face in the fog now
The waves are crashing down on me
And I see your face in the fog now
The waves are crashing down on me
And I see your face in the fog now
And I see your face in the fog now
Oh
The waves are crashing down on me
And I see your face in the fog now
Oh
The waves are crashing down on me
And I see your face in the fog now
The waves crashing down on me
And I see your face in the fog now
Now that I'm lost
Now that I'm gone (crashing down on me, oh that I'm gone)
I remember the days (i see your face)
We laid out in the rain (in the fog now)
Oh the waves crashing down on me
I see your face in the fog now
The waves are crashing down on me
And I see your face in the fog now
The lyrics of John Vincent III's song The Waves depict a person that seems to be engulfed by life's struggles. The waves crashing down on them is a metaphor for the relentless pressures and demands of life. The repetition of the line "And I see your face in the fog now" suggests that the person may be going through a difficult time and is finding it hard to focus or see a way out. The person appears to be looking back on happier times, as they remember "the days we laid out in the rain." The contrast between the fond memories and the struggles of the present suggests that the person may be experiencing some sort of loss or transition.
The song's refrain "Oh the waves are crashing down on me, and I see your face in the fog now" is emotionally charged and poignantly captures the struggle of feeling lost and isolated, but still being able to see a glimmer of hope. Overall, the song's message is one of resilience, and the importance of remembering the people and memories that bring light and warmth to our lives even in the midst of hardship.
