Born in Houston, Texas, Nash began as a pop singer in the 1950s. He became famous for singing the theme song for The Mighty Hercules cartoon in the early 1960s (which song he also wrote). His biggest hits were the early reggae tunes Hold Me Tight, I Can See Clearly Now, and Stir It Up, written by Bob Marley prior to Marley's international success.
Nash was last active as a composer in the Swedish romance Vill så gärna tro (1971) in which he portrayed Robert. For many years he seemed to have dropped out of sight; however, in May 2006 he was singing again at SugarHill Recording Studio in his native Houston.
Like Someone in Love
Johnny Nash Lyrics

Hearing guitars like someone in love.
Sometimes the things I do astound me,
Mostly whenever you're around me.
Lately I seem to walk as though I had wings,
Bump into things like someone in love.
Each time I look at you,
I'm limp as a glove,
The opening lines of Johnny Nash's "Like Someone in Love" embody an ethereal and romantic atmosphere. The singer describes how he has become transfixed by the starry skies and entranced by the sound of guitars, both of which symbolize his love and admiration for someone. The singer is so enamored by this person that their presence in his life fills him with a sense of awe and wonder that makes him feel as though he is floating on air.
The second stanza of the song delves deeper into the singer's feelings. He is sometimes surprised by his behavior, which seems to be influenced by the presence of the person he loves. He bumps into things, as though he is not fully aware of his surroundings. The singer's inability to concentrate can be traced back to his strong emotions - whenever this person is around, he becomes distracted and overwhelmed. He goes on to describe how every time he looks at this person, he feels completely helpless and vulnerable, "limp as a glove." He is fully immersed in the experience of being in love, and it consumes his every thought and action.
