Get up, Get up, Get up now
All my friends are one two quick march now
Wake up, Wake up, Wake up now
You give it away, give it away, give it away
All my friends are working for the crack down
All my friends have dreams of unemployment
All my friends have sponsored state enjoyment
Line up, line up, line up now
You sign it away, sign it away, sign it away
Tie your noose tight, tie your noose tight, tie it
Give them the third degree, whoo yeah
Give them the third degree, whoo yeah
Give them the third degree, whoo yeah
Give them the third degreeeee
All my friends are beating on their own team
Get up, get up, get up now
All my friends are dying on the youth scheme
Wake up, Wake up, Wake up now
You give it away, give it away, give it away
Tie your noose tight, tie your noose tight, tie it
Give them the third degree, whoo yeah
Give them the third degree, whoo yeah
Give them the third degree, whoo yeah
Give them the third degree
And I can't stand it
You can't stand it
We can't stand it no more
Give them the third degree, whoo yeah
Give them the third degree, whoo yeah
Give them the third degree, whoo yeah
Give them the third degree, whoo yeah
Give them the third degree, whoo yeah
Give them the third degree, whoo yeah
Give them the third degree, whoo yeah
Give them one for me
In "The Third Degree" by Johnny Panic, the lyrics describe a world where the singer's friends have lost their individuality and become part of a conformist system. The opening lines suggest that everyone has fallen into a pattern of wearing the same colors and marching to the same beat. The friends have given up their dreams and aspirations in exchange for state-provided entertainment. The singer urges his friends to wake up and realize that they have signed their lives away, and that they should prepare themselves for the consequences.
The chorus repeats the phrase "Give them the third degree," emphasizing the idea that the singer's friends have been oppressed and controlled by an outside force. The urgency in the singer's voice and the repetition of the chorus make it clear that the situation is dire and that something needs to change. The lines "All my friends are beating on their own team" and "All my friends are dying on the youth scheme" suggest that the conformist system has turned the friends against each other and has inflicted harm on them.
The song is an anthem for individuality, urging people to stand up against oppressive systems that seek to control them. It calls for rebellion against a conformist society that suppresses creativity and crushes dreams. The song warns that if we continue to allow the system to control us, we will lose ourselves and our identity, becoming just another face in the crowd.

They are very good, a high energy band but the songs don't go anywhere. A good song is like going for a run, you might start fast or slow, then speed up or slow down, you might take a rest in the middle or have a sprint when you get to the top of the hill, find a beautiful hill and run down it feeling exhilarated (that is the decent guitar solo bit), and can finish feeling invigorated at the end. Unfortunately Johnny panic are what i would call a 400m sprint, high energy but a bit draining as they go nowhere. You are waiting for the change in the chord, or the tempo but it never comes, let alone a quality solo. Sadly this is nothing new and characteristic of modern Punk bands. They need to listen to some of the great rock bands like G n R, Metallica, Bon Jovi, etc to stand out from the crowd.
