Hideaway
Jolly Goods Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Hideaway hideway hideaway
What are you going to do
You know what you want
But you won't get it yet

Hideaway hideway hideaway
What are you going to do
So you're in a strange fight with time
Knock out, you're alive

When you'll need money you'll simply go and steal it

I'm proud of all the signatures I've faked
I'm proud of all the lessons I've missed
The way is my aim
The way is my aim

Hideaway hideway hideaway
What are you going to do?
You know a easy way to go
Just fallow the superbore

Hideaway hideway hideaway
What are you going to do?
So you're in it, and I'm out of it
Admit, I'm not defect

To get your money you sit still and get fucking brainwashed

I'm proud of all the signatures I've faked
I'm proud of all the lessons I've missed
The way is my aim
The way is my aim

Hideaway hideway hideaway
What are you going to do?

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Jolly Goods' song "Hideaway" seem to touch on themes of inner conflict, rebellion, and self-discovery. The repeated questioning of "What are you going to do?" suggests a sense of uncertainty and indecision about a desired goal or purpose. The use of "hideaway" may symbolize a desire to retreat or escape from the pressures or expectations of society.

The lines "You know what you want but you won't get it yet" and "So you're in a strange fight with time, Knock out, you're alive" hint at a struggle with achieving one's desires and goals, and facing the challenges and obstacles that come with it. The idea of being in a fight with time could represent the pressure and urgency to accomplish something before it's too late.

The mention of stealing money and faking signatures could be interpreted metaphorically as acts of rebellion against societal norms or expectations. It could also suggest a sense of defiance or nonconformity in the face of a system that may feel oppressive or limiting. The lyrics express a sense of pride in going against the grain and taking unconventional paths.

The repeated declaration that "the way is my aim" implies a focus on the journey rather than the destination, suggesting that the process of self-discovery and personal growth is more important than achieving specific external markers of success. The mention of being brainwashed and sitting still to get money could point towards a critique of societal conditioning and the pursuit of material wealth at the expense of individuality and authenticity. Overall, the song appears to explore themes of identity, resistance, and finding one's own path in a world that may try to impose limitations.

Manchmal ist man ja schon angekommen und denkt man muss schnell irgendwo anders hin Gruss von DUSAN (you KNOW him?) :-)
