In 1993 they released their follow-up album, Nubia Soul, which was much more R&B flavoured. The album also produced a few minor dance and R&B hits, with "I Like It" reaching number 83 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. That same year, Jomanda returned to number one on the dance chart with "Don't You Want Me," credited to Felix featuring Jomanda, a techno number that used vocal samples from their 1989 hit "Don't You Want My Love".
In 1995, member Joanne Thomas returned to the dance charts under the moniker Yavahn as the featured vocalist on the Ruffneck song "Everybody Be Somebody". Cheri Williams had appeared on a Ruffneck track as well in 1987. Yavahn released several more singles with Ruffneck over the next few years, as well as the album New Life in 1999.
A comeback by the group, along with a new single for a forthcoming album, was rumoured to be fact during 2002. No new music has surfaced from Jomanda since the rumour. This is likely due to the untimely death of Joanne Thomas in October 2003 after a three year battle with colon cancer.
The song "Make My Body Rock" appeared on the soundtrack to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. This song is also featured on DANCE! Online, a multiplayer online casual rhythm game.

I've always loved this group. They were on their way up in the late 80's-early 90's. This was a shift in the careers of Jomanda because they only did house music prior to I Like It which is much more commercial. Mainstream never totally accepted House so by the 90's alot of House artists had to go another way to survive! RIP Joanna Thomas.

I remember as an 11 yr old or so buying this as a cassette single. I know some ppl will remember what a cassette single is lol. Wow how time flies and wow how back then was just WAY better than it is now. Anyway, this version is IMO even better than DeBarge's.
