This song reminds me of my dad. We used to travel a lot by car, really long trips all around Brazil, when I was a kid. He died early this year, just after our last big roadtrip, about 3200 km (2000 mi). We had a 10 disc CD player back then, now we had a pendrive loaded with Yes, Jon and Vangelis and others like that. I will always remember him.

I stumbled on the Friends of Mr Cairo many many years ago and was totally taken by every track, loved it , love all of the songs on it. I had never heard of Jon Anderson before, I had heard the band Yes a few times but never put the two together. Jon and Vangelis together though Wow. I know a little more of them both now and that The Friends of Mr Cairo was for film score The Maltese Falcon but as yet I have not seen it Listening to the album is like a story to me so I generally listen to the whole thing not just the odd trak. I have not had a T V for many many years and lost my dear friend, my soulmate my wife March 2015, so playing my music now brings back all of those happy years. Alas I find myself totally alone now, living a fairly remote and quiet life, so it's it's nice to reminisce!

I’ve just heard the terrible news Vangelis died today. Can’t believe it! I bought the ‘Chariots of Fire’ album in 1981 when I was 14 and grew up with his music. ‘Short Stories’ and ‘Friends of Mr Cairo’ (Jon & Vangelis)… “a seasons wish will come true, all seasons begin with you”.

I’m so sad…Where has the time gone. Thank you Evangelos where ever you are for your inspirational music.
