I was a music student in Leeds Yorkshire in 1976. Johnny Guitar Watson came on the radio. I stopped nd listened to this wonderful sound. It was at this point I put down the studying, walked the three miles to Leeds HMV, bought the record, walked home and played the groove off it. Totally wonderful.

Heard this on LP in the 70's at boarding school in England, like Pink Floyd it opened my mind to new avenues of music.
I have loved this particular track and when ever I need a lift just fall in to it the perfect escape from petty problems.

He died on stage in Japan in May 1996, mid-guitar solo. According to witnesses, his last words were, "Ain't that a bitch." Sadly, died way too young at only 61, but at least he went out in memorable fashion while doing what he loved. Happy B'day, JGW.
