@Eric Redd The reason I don't address the "facts" is because it will make no difference, and you know that. There are very logical answers to most of what you bring up, other items we take on faith. The Lord works that way. I do not think that you are evil and I am sorry if I came across that way. Now, for you to say that I am "not honest with myself" is beyond absurd and arrogant. I have read church history, I LOVE THE "SAINTS"! I know people and prophets have made mistakes, the Lord allows it, it tries the faith of all. Without mistakes, how are we supposed to grow? You mention others that were once "faithful and dedicated"...I wager that many or most were never really converted. You see, it is not the same to be active at church (eyeservice) and active in the gospel (the 5 wise virgins). All of this is part of the plan, the sifting process, the separation of the wheat and tares (which is happening at an alarming rate right now). Then you call me lazy? Just wow. Those that endure to the end are the opposite of lazy my friend. But keep telling yourself that all converted members of the church are lazy. Good grief bruh.

There is literally nothing you could say that would change my mind, because as stated before, I know what I know based on decades of proof that the Lord in His goodness and mercy has shown me. This may sum it up:

"It seems that history continues to teach us: You can leave the Church, but you can’t leave it alone. The basic reason for this is simple. Once someone has received a witness of the Spirit and accepted it, he leaves neutral ground. One loses his testimony only by listening to the promptings of the evil one, and Satan’s goal is not complete when a person leaves the Church, but when he comes out in open rebellion against it."

Eternity is the wrong thing to be wrong about Eric.

I am happier now than I have ever been or even thought I could be. Live is AWESOME and the Lord makes it so. I LOVE LIFE!!

Found it!
It was six men of Indostan, to learning much inclined,
who went to see the elephant (Though all of them were blind),
that each by observation, might satisfy his mind.

The first approached the elephant, and, happening to fall,
against his broad and sturdy side, at once began to bawl:
"God bless me! but the elephant, is nothing but a wall!"

The second feeling of the tusk, cried: "Ho! what have we here,
so very round and smooth and sharp? To me tis mighty clear,
this wonder of an elephant, is very like a spear!"

The third approached the animal, and, happening to take,
the squirming trunk within his hands, "I see," quoth he,
the elephant is very like a snake!"

The fourth reached out his eager hand, and felt about the knee:
"What most this wondrous beast is like, is mighty plain," quoth he;
"Tis clear enough the elephant is very like a tree."

The fifth, who chanced to touch the ear, Said; "E'en the blindest man
can tell what this resembles most; Deny the fact who can,
This marvel of an elephant, is very like a fan!"

The sixth no sooner had begun, about the beast to grope,
than, seizing on the swinging tail, that fell within his scope,
"I see," quothe he, "the elephant is very like a rope!"

And so these men of Indostan, disputed loud and long,
each in his own opinion, exceeding stiff and strong,
Though each was partly in the right, and all were in the wrong!

So, oft in theologic wars, the disputants, I ween,
tread on in utter ignorance, of what each other mean,
and prate about the elephant, not one of them has seen!

Fabled Creature

Yet. You lie. You haven't earned the credit. You've lied right to the camera's face.
You lie.
So how you can convey it is to stop lying.
Oh, and not abusing me when I was young, because Christ's true church wouldn't do that. And then double down on it to defend the church. Several young women, forced into silence, 'to protect the church.'
You don't tell cunningly devised fables then.
But yet you did.
You will.
You do.
I've had people look into my eyes, with tears and sincerity appearing like yours, and found out they lied.
Sorry. Your tears and your professions aren't what make you truth.
Truth stands as TRUTH without you. You don't hold it in your hands while we have to kneel at your feet to get it.
Truth is in me.
I don't know what's in you.
Between you and God.
Leave me out of it.
God isn't tuning in through you to me. Ridiculous!
Play your game for power.
'But I have another confession to make.
I ain't no fool.'
Fool me once, elder Holland's of the church.
Never again.

@Surely Serious I admire you tenacity and research
I just think churches and people in general have a lot of pride and ego
Growing up in multiple churches and belief systems, I don’t see anything worse or bigger in lies or drama than any other belief system look at the muslim religion
Muhammad was a warlord ?
And that belief system also doesn’t belief in separation of church and state ?
In those two key elements alone I just can’t understand or unpack how a billion people believe in it ?
So like joes smith or Jesus Christ , maybe it’s something else most people aren’t looking at ?
As far as I can tell it’s micro details and daily living that converts people
An unconscious cultural psychology that makes people feel connected

Marc Oslund was a convert to Mormonism. He sacrificed his baseball career for men like these.
His heat breaking story is on Mormon Stories. He taught several thousand students and inspired many other young
people. Perhaps his life will serve to break the power of the church over the lives of tens of thousands of young people.

By this logic, Rasputin must also have had the one true truth of God.

Why does the LDS Gospel Topic Essay "The Book of Mormon Translation" have the fact that Joseph Smith dictated the BoM when he had his head in a hat with a seer stone yet the BoM INTRODUCTION states that he translated from gold plates?
Why hasn't the BoM INTRODUCTION been changed to reflect the truth? The truth is so important it makes us free.
Retaining gold plates in the BoM INTRODUCTION looks like a deceit.
It is understood that a seer stone in a hat is a daft idea, but the truth should prevail, no?
Peace.

I think Holland is sincere and it messes with my brain 🧠. Living with cognitive dissonance I’m envious of those who are so sure about what they believe to
Know. There are spiritual forces after all and visions create an intense and compelling spiritual reality that may trump out physical world. NDE’s are one example. Quantum physics is another field that had to live with a truth that causes cognitive dissonance and fosters uncertainty.

I am in that same boat. I am going to make a Salty Dog drink.

His argument seems to be that they both were willing to sacrifice themselves for the ministry of the Gospel. At least that's my interpretation. That they both went to their grave with a testimony of it.
