Fortunate Fly
Josh Cameron Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Awaiting fortunate fly
The destination not mine
You brought us here
Took us in
Showed us how
We've killed our own for years
Strengthened by the divide
With armor built to defy
The moving hands
They wanted it
Beneath the sands
The blood was darker then

She bore something worth dieing for
Soon there will be nothing left
Tell me, tell me will we fly again?

Waiting so long for the end of the end
It's only on the inside
Waiting so long for the end of the end
It's only on the inside x2 trying to escape

Awaiting fortunate fly
To think you know in your mind
What we're here for
The cornerstone
She wrapped it up
I took it home
The blade of the samurai
When faint perceptions collide
A gift to you
The great divide
Enduring still
So you won't see what-

She bore something worth dieing for
Soon there will be nothing left
Tell me, tell me will we fly again?

Chorus

I know you waited so long
I know you knew all along
We carried her
On wounded knee
Of sweat and blood
And finally

She bore something worth living for
Its only on the inside

Overall Meaning

The song "Fortunate Fly" by Josh Cameron talks about a journey of self-discovery, the struggles we face when trying to find our place in the world, and how we often end up hurting others in the process. The opening line "Awaiting fortunate fly, the destination not mine" sets the tone for the song, suggesting that the singer is waiting for something to take them away from where they are, even if they don't know where they are meant to go. The lines "You brought us here, took us in, showed us how, we've killed our own for years" imply that the singer has been brought to a place where they have learnt some hard lessons about themselves and the consequences of their actions. The phrase "strengthened by the divide with armor built to defy" suggests that this journey has made the singer stronger but also more guarded, as if they have erected a protective barrier around themselves to protect themselves from further pain.

The second verse brings in a female character, who is described as "she bore something worth dying for". The lines "soon there will be nothing left, tell me, tell me, will we fly again?" suggest that this woman or the idea she represents is something that is disappearing or dying out, and the singer is unsure if they will ever be able to reclaim it. The chorus repeats the line "waiting so long for the end of the end, it's only on the inside" which implies that the true struggle is an internal one, and that the only way to find peace or contentment is to confront your own demons.

The final verse returns to the female character who is described as being carried "on wounded knee of sweat and blood" and has "borne something worth living for". This suggests that despite the struggles and pain, the journey has led to some positive outcomes, even if they are hard won.

Overall, "Fortunate Fly" is a song that explores the themes of self-discovery, growth, and the pain that comes with that. It suggests that the only way to find peace is to confront your own demons, but that the journey is worth it in the end.

After months of researching and shopping around for bags, this video helped us settle on the Brevite. My gf made a video of all the crap we were able to fit in it! Great bag, great video - thanks dude!

Josh Cameron

Thanks dude - great solution for a bag in my opinion, it does it all!

You know man, i found your videos looking for review about the S5 since i was struggling between S5 and A7III. Obviously i chose the S5 and i'm more than happy with that choice, and since then i follow each one of your video, keep up the great work !

Josh Cameron

Ah thank you mate! Great choice 🙌🏼 glad you’re enjoying the camera, and really happy that these vids are helpful for you.

Appreciate the support ✌🏻

The bag point is SPOT ON! Travelling you want to look less obvious. Another one is to put black tape over the make and model as to look less obvious, especially if more expensive.

You should try the sigma 16 to 28. Its a pair to the 28 to 70. F2.8 as well👍

Josh Cameron

I’d love to try it, may have to get hold of one soon :)

Aylen Studios

Maybe those two plus the 70-300 would be the ultimate combo

Love the content. I went in the opposite direction with my lenses I have the 28-70 sigma f2.8 and the 70-300 Panasonic.
Been trying to use my camera more and have a nice small set up.

Josh Cameron

Both incredible lenses mate! Love the 70-300, was a solid choice for my recent trip to SA 👌🏻
