He began his musical journey at a very early age: ” I remember my first band, named Knuvo… it was a pop rock group and it was my first shot at being the lead singer of a band,” recalls Juan with a mischievous tone. A few years later, Juan Son decided to study music in England and joins the "London Center of Contemporary Music".
In 2004 Juan returned to Mexico and Porter was born. They released an EP "Donde Los Ponys Pastan" (Where the Ponies Graze) and a successful album “Atemahawke", in 2007.
2008 brings the demise of Porter and Juan Son began working on his solo project. He was submerged in his new adventure and collaborated with internationally known artists such as Julieta Venegas. He was also approached by Los Odio to do a remake of the Cheap Trick classic "I want you to want me" for the soundtrack of the Mexican film Rudo y Cursi.
On February 17, 2009, Juan Son released his debut album “Mermaid Sashimi” under critical praise.

Spending lifetimes typing nonsense
Desperately
Fishing for a complement
What I thought was cool
just five minutes ago
Now
Seems com
Pletly ridiculous
Every time there is an earthquake
There's a groan that asks for change
The real kind of change
Not just alike
Va a cambiar
Tan rapido como cae un rayo
Va a cambiar
Tan rapido como cae un rayo
Funny Humans, Soaked in Coffee
Spending lifetimes typing nonsense
Desperately
Fishing for a complement
Or just a like
What I thought was cool
just five minutes ago
Now
Seems com
Pletly ridiculous
Every time there is an earthquake
There's a groan that asks for change
The real kind of change
Not just alike
Va a cambiar
Tan rapido como cae un rayo
Va a cambiar
Tan rapido como cae un rayo
All the truth that was disguised as silence
Finally comes out
All the truth that was disguised as silence
Finally comes out
La la la la la la
All the truth that was disguised as silence
Finally comes out
La la la la la la
La la la la la la
La la la la la la
La la la la la la
La la la la la la
Juan Son and Simone Pace's song "Finally" is a commentary on the ephemeral nature of modern society. The opening lines, "Funny humans, soaked in coffee, spending lifetimes typing nonsense," suggest that we are a society distracted by trivialities. The next lines, "Desperately fishing for a compliment or just a like," comment on social media's role in validating us. The song goes on to say that what we thought was cool just five minutes ago now seems ridiculous, indicating that we are constantly chasing the next cool thing, but it will inevitably become outdated.
The song mentions earthquakes, which could be interpreted as a metaphor for societal upheaval, and suggests that we need real change, not just superficial ones like a "like" on social media. The repeated line, "Va a cambiar tan rápido como cae un rayo" (It will change as quickly as a lightning bolt falls), emphasizes the need for change and highlights the rapid pace of our society's evolution.
The chorus, "All the truth that was disguised as silence finally comes out," suggests that amidst all the distractions and noise, the truth remains hidden. However, the idea that it "finally" comes out implies that it takes a significant event (such as an earthquake) to reveal the truth.
Overall, "Finally" is a thoughtful commentary on the state of modern society, emphasizing the need for meaningful change and reflection on the things that truly matter.

Me puse los audífonos y me acosté para escuchar esta rola y dije "ahorita vemos que pedo", al escucharla empecé a sonreír y a llorar, es increíble como tu música me hace sentir como un mocoso de 15 años.
