The band's membership has seen much turnover, including a revolving cast of drummers in the 1970s and the departure of singer Rob Halford in 1992. Tim "Ripper" Owens, formerly of Winter's Bane, replaced Halford in 1996 and recorded two albums with Judas Priest, before Halford returned to the band in 2003. The current line-up consists of Halford, guitarists Glenn Tipton and Richie Faulkner, bassist Ian Hill and drummer Scott Travis. The band's best-selling album is 1982's Screaming for Vengeance, with their most commercially successful line-up featuring Ian Hill, Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton, guitarist K. K. Downing, and drummer Dave Holland. Tipton and Hill are the only two members of the band to appear on every album.
Halford's operatic vocal style and the twin guitar sound of Downing and Tipton have been a major influence on heavy metal bands. Judas Priest's image of leather, spikes, and other taboo articles of clothing were widely influential during the glam metal era of the 1980s. The Guardian referred to British Steel as the record that defines heavy metal. Despite a decline in exposure during the mid-1990s, the band has once again seen a resurgence, including worldwide tours, being inaugural inductees into the VH1 Rock Honors in 2006, receiving a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2010, and having their songs featured in video games such as Guitar Hero and the Rock Band series. In 2022, Judas Priest were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Here Come the Tears
Judas Priest Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Now it seems life's passed me by, I'm still alone today
Here come the tears
Looks like it'll always be the same
No one here to comfort me
Here come the tears
So much to give to you all out there.
Take me now, in your arms.
Let me rest, safe from harm.
Ohh I want to be loved
I need to be loved
Won't somebody love me
Here they come, here come the tears
Here they come, here come the tears
Here they come, here come the tears
Here they come, here come the tears
Here they come, here come the tears
Here they come, here come the tears
Here they come, here come the tears
Here they come, here come the tears
Here they come, here come the tears
Here they come, here come the tears
Here they come, here come the tears
Here they come, here come the tears
Here they come, here come the tears
Here they come, here come the tears
Here come the tears
Here come the tears
Here come the tears.
Here come the tears
Here come the tears, ohh
Here come the tears, ohh
Here come the tears
The lyrics of Judas Priest's song "Here Come the Tears" express a deep longing for love and companionship, and a frustration with the feeling of being alone. The opening lines of the song paint a picture of hope and anticipation, as the singer dreams of being swept up in love. However, this dream is contrasted with the reality of the present, as the singer laments that life has passed them by and they are still alone. The repeated refrain of "Here come the tears" emphasizes the sadness and despair of this situation.
The second verse of the song further exemplifies this sense of isolation, with the singer feeling like they have no one to turn to for comfort. The lines "all alone, no one cares / so much to give to you all out there" express a longing to connect with others and share their love, despite feeling unloved themselves. The final verse is a plea for love and affection, with the singer begging for someone to love and care for them.
Overall, "Here Come the Tears" is a powerful expression of the human need for connection and companionship, and the pain of feeling alone and unloved.

Powerful song….
But when you realize that….
It is the prelude to the next song, on the album….
It goes off the charts -
like, Nobel laureate levels of meaning….
This song and - you all know what the next song is….
A powerful insight into a major cause of almost all acrimony in our history and lives….
Captured by an album-closing medley….
“Father, forgive them - they know not what they do….”

That's exactly what i thought when the guitar solo started to play. The vibe of three scorpions songs came up in mind at once - living and dying, top of the bill and evening wind.
