The Northern Norwegian band
Judith is a hybrid of four young men from Northern Norway with a different set of musical influences.
It is all rock - could be emo, could be stoner, or more popishlike rock - but the sound is all Judith. Will be avalible on last.fm by the end of 2006.
The American goth rock band
Christopher David made face with Requiem in White throughout the early '90s, making himself one of goth rock's rising stars around his native New York City. By 1995, he hooked up with bass player Damian James and drummer Brian Veit for a new project, a darkwave experimental group they called Judith. They made their debut that April at CBGB annual event, Night of Misanthropy, and Judith's first album Föhn was out by December. Since goth rock was still cult and fan-based throughout America, Judith challenged European audiences. Judith's infectious post-punk sound of lush choruses, heavy bass lines, and worldbeat percussion was strikingly similar to the likes of Die Krupps and Rosetta Stone. A deal with Neue Aesthetik was set by 1998 and Judith issued the beautiful chaos of La Reveuse. Monica Richards and William Faith of Faith & the Muse invited Judith to play the Blackout A.D. tour in 1999; this was Judith's first major tour of North America and dates in the U.K. and Germany followed the next summer. Having spent the latter '90s on the road and recording, David, James, and Veit took a well-deserved break before writing for a third album. Play of Light was issued in fall 2001.

I've Got My Eyes On You
Judith Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I've got you deep in the heart of me.
So deep in my heart that you're really a part of me.
I've got you under my skin.
I'd tried so not to give in.
I said to myself, this affair never will go so well.
But why should I try to resist when, baby, I know down well
I've got you under my skin?
I'd sacrifice anything come what might
For the sake of havin' you near
In spite of a warnin' voice that comes in the night
And repeats, repeats in my ear,
Don't you know, you fool, you never can win?
Use your mentality, wake up to reality.
But each time that I do just the thought of you
Makes me stop before I begin
Cause I've got you under my skin.
I would sacrifice anything come what might
For the sake of havin' you near
In spite of the warning voice that comes in the night
And repeats, how it yells in my ear,
Don't you know, you fool, ain't no chance to win
Why not use your mentality, get up, wake up to reality?
And each time I do just the thought of you
Makes me stop just before I begin
Cause I've got you under my skin.
And I like you under my skin.
The lyrics of Judith's song "I've Got My Eyes On You" convey a deep infatuation and longing for someone. The repetition of the phrase "I've got you under my skin" depicts a sense of intense desire and obsession. The singer reveals that this person has become an integral part of their being, suggesting that their presence is deeply ingrained in their heart and soul. The repetition emphasizes the strength of these emotions, indicating that this attraction is more than superficial.
The lyrics also showcase the internal struggle the singer faces in trying to resist this attraction. They admit to attempting to deny their feelings and predicting that the affair will not end well. However, they question why they should resist when they know deep down that they are already consumed by this person. This internal conflict highlights the irresistible nature of their connection.
The lyrics further emphasize the singer's willingness to sacrifice anything for the sake of being close to this person. Despite a warning voice that echoes in their mind and cautions against pursuing this infatuation, the singer chooses to ignore it. The repeated line, "Don't you know, you fool, you never can win?" represents the rational voice trying to intervene and bring them back to reality. However, the thought of this person is strong enough to override any logical reasoning.
In the final repetition of the chorus, the singer reflects on their feelings and affirms that they not only have this person under their skin but also enjoy it. This line suggests a sense of surrender and acceptance of their emotions, embracing the intensity of their attraction. It implies that although it may not be the most logical or practical decision, the singer acknowledges that they are deeply captivated and is willing to embrace the consequences.
Overall, the lyrics of "I've Got My Eyes On You" express the all-consuming nature of infatuation, the internal struggle of resistance, and the willingness to sacrifice rationality for the sake of love. It portrays a feeling of being entranced by someone and choosing to follow one's emotions despite any warnings or doubts.
