She was born on February 14, 1987 in Kurgan, Russia. Music is Julia's passion and both of her parents are musicians. After graduating from music school, her mother worked as a music school teacher for 12 years. Her father is a drummer.
Having such a creative and musical family has meant Julia grew up as a very artistic child. She liked singing, drawing, dancing and performed her first solo dance on stage at the age of four.
One of Julia’s favourite movies is "Léon" which is directed by Luc Besson, a fact which explains why she’s been nicknamed Matilda since her school days.
When she was six, Julia and her family moved to Moscow. Spending all her spare time with the musicians and choreographers with whom her Mother worked with.
Solo Career
In 2002 and 2003 she performed the lead roles in Christmas performances in Moscow’s main Russian church – The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour.
And then there was Russian TV talent show, Star Factory which propelled Julia into the limelight. Although she only came 3rd in the show, she was selected to represent Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest which was held May 12, 2004, which raised many eyebrows. She sung the song Believe Me and came #11th place.
Julia also perfoms the hit themesong "If there's love in your heart" ("Если в сердце живёт любовь") to a Russian popular TV serial "Not Born Beautiful" ("Не родись красивой").

Смотрю в 2020году. Дааа, номер с прыгающими цветными танцорами, которые таскают Юлю, конечно излишне. Она не успевает перевести дыхание, плюс краска на телах скользкая. Песня очень красивая, и Юля молодец, очень старалась!

Выступление на самом деле провальное, но тут виновата не совсем Юля, а те, кто ставил этот дурацкий номер. Петь и танцевать одновременно это сложно, а еще танцоры были густо намазаны краской из-за чего Юля чуть не упала.

@@shadowriki2284 Да дело тут даже не в краске. Всегда, когда смотришь на исполнителя, оцениваешь его творческие возможности: как он умеет петь, как он держится на сцене как артист и т. д. На "Фабрике звёзд" Савичева выстрелила с песней "Высоко". Это было здорово. Песня прозвучала и кого-то другого в ней представить сложно. Но то была фонограмма. А фонограмма в условиях современной техники это волшебная палочка абсолютно для любого артиста вне зависимости от того, умеет ли он петь живьём или нет. И вот когда после "Фабрики" Савичева показалась на "Евровидении", где артист по правилам конкурса должны петь вживую, я подумал: "Ну всё. Сейчас она своим голосом и песней зал просто убьёт". И вдруг такое "тю". Сапожник оказался без сапог. Я никогда не был, а сейчас,после всех зверств, учиненных Украиной, и подавно не являюсь поклонником Русланы, но надо отдать должное в том, что на тот момент и голоса, и энергетики, и артистизма у неё было для победы гораздо больше. Пусть она тоже как Савичева оказалась певицей одной песни, но в том случае звёзды сошлись именно в её пользу.

Тут все сошлось. Девочка совсем зелёная, до фабрики только танцевала, петь особо и не умела. На ворлдбесте (куда ехала вместо Полины в том же году) выступала ещё хуже. Тут видно, что с ней очень хорошо позанимались ещё педагоги.
Возможно меньше нужно было заморачиваться с номером, чтобы спокойно могла петь.
Подобрать поярче образ, так как блекловато смотрелась.
