Bergan has already managed to achieve more than 100 million streams in her career. Doors began opening for real when she released her smash hit ”All hours” October 2015, followed by ”I Kinda Like It”, February 2016. The success continued and she reached an impressive peak later in 2016, when she climbed all the way to the top of the Norwegian charts with the #1 banger ”Arigato”.
Bergan has during 2016 gone both gold and platinum (several times), charmed the Nordic audience with performances on Danish X-factor, as well as Norwegian Idol with Tinie Tempah. In addition she has been touring Europe at sold out venues with hit machine Jess Glynne, supported Justin Bieber on both his shows in Norway and Spain as well as playing a bunch of concerts and festivals with her live band. She also got nominated in the categories 'Song of the Year' with Arigato and 'Best New Artist' for the Norwegian music award, P3 gull. The opponents were some of Norway’s most popular artists. She also did an extraordinary live performance of 'Arigato' during the award show.
Bergan kicks off 2017 with releasing her brand new single “Blackout” on January 13th and with a nomination for “Song of the year” for “Arigato’ at the Norwegian Grammy Awards, Spellemann, a show taking place in Oslo on Jan 28th where she will be performing both songs. With her powerful and diverse voice, combined with a unique and playful stage presence filled with energy, Julie Bergan has managed to put herself at the center of the Norwegian music scene.
Kiss Me Better
Julie Bergan Lyrics

Never been so close but yet so far
Never felt so light and loved so hard
Never played around with broken hearts
But here we are
It's like we're going on and off again
But when we go out, I'm just a friend
I fall apart
I just want you to kiss me better
Want you to kiss me better
I just want you to kiss me better
'Cause the sun won't shine on us forever
I just want you to kiss me better
I just want you to kiss me better
I just want you to kiss me better
I just want you to kiss me better
Never been the type, to give it all
Always been afraid to slip and fall
Everything's been safe within my walls
But here we are, ooh
It's like we're going on and off again
You say that it's us until the end
But when we go out, I'm just a friend
I fall apart
I just want you to kiss me better
Want you to kiss me better
I just want you to kiss me better
'Cause the sun won't shine on us forever
I just want you to kiss me better
I just want you to kiss me better
I just want you to kiss me better
I just want you to kiss me better
The lyrics of Julie Bergan's song "Kiss Me Better" touch upon themes of longing, confusion, and seeking solace in a relationship. The opening lines, "Never been so close but yet so far, never felt so light and loved so hard," reflect a sense of emotional intimacy mixed with distance. The singer is experiencing a deep connection with their partner, but the relationship seems to be characterized by ups and downs, leading to feelings of being both close and far at the same time.
As the lyrics continue, there is a sense of uncertainty and insecurity in the relationship. The singer expresses their desire for reassurance and stability, lamenting the fact that despite being told that it's "us until the end," they feel like just a friend when they are out together. This discrepancy between the public and private aspects of their relationship causes the singer to feel vulnerable and emotional, leading them to "fall apart."
The repeated plea of "I just want you to kiss me better" signifies a yearning for comfort and connection in the midst of turmoil. The singer desires a gesture of intimacy that goes beyond words, seeking physical reassurance and emotional healing from their partner. The line "the sun won't shine on us forever" implies a sense of impermanence and urgency in seeking solace, highlighting the fleeting nature of moments of closeness and light in the relationship.
The second verse delves deeper into the singer's internal struggle and reluctance to fully open up in their relationship. They admit to being reserved and cautious, fearing vulnerability and the possibility of getting hurt. Despite their efforts to maintain a facade of safety within their walls, they find themselves confronted with a reality where their emotions are exposed and raw. The repetition of the desire for their partner to "kiss me better" underscores the longing for genuine connection and emotional healing in the face of uncertainty and insecurity.
Overall, the lyrics of "Kiss Me Better" encapsulate a complex emotional landscape of love, longing, and vulnerability. The singer grapples with conflicting emotions of closeness and distance, seeking reassurance and comfort in a relationship characterized by ups and downs. Through the repeated plea for a simple yet profound act of intimacy, the song poignantly captures the universal desire for connection and understanding in the midst of emotional turmoil.
