Vuelve
Julieta Venegas Featuring Ana Tijoux Y Rubén Albarrán Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Dice
Has cambiado
No se atreve a venir por aquí
Dice
El tiempo se puso malo
Es
No hay que salir después de las diez
Vuelve a mi ciudad
Vuelve para acá
No te dejes engañar por el miedo
Vuelve a mi ciudad
Vuelve para acá
No te dejes engañar por el miedo
Es verdad
No vez a nadie aquí bailando
Por las calles
Son tiempo oscuros
No mentiré
Pero quisiera animarte
Mi pueblo valiente
Mi pueblo audaz
Copiado, por cierto
Pero capaz
De mirar hacia el frente
Sonrisa inocente
De manos que son nuestra gente
Mujeres, señoras, hermosas, esposas
Quizás luminosas
Volar mariposas
Ya que nuestra verdad
Sólo se llama buscar libertad
No sabemos bien cómo salir
De no estar aquí
Y ser nuestro héroe
Vuelve
Vuelve
Vuelve
Vuelve a mi ciudad
Vuelve para acá
No te dejes engañar por el miedo
Vuelve a mi ciudad
Vuelve para acá
No te dejes engañar por el miedo
Vuelve a mi ciudad
Vuelve para acá
No te dejes engañar por el miedo
Vuelve a mi ciudad
Vuelve para acá
No te dejes engañar por el miedo
Vuelve a nuestra ciudad
A buscar libertad
Vuelve

The lyrics of Julieta Venegas' song "Vuelve" featuring Ana Tijoux y Rubén Albarrán convey a strong message about facing fear and returning to one's roots. The song begins with a friend asking about the subject of the song, and mentioning that they have changed. However, the friend is afraid to return due to the current state of fear and darkness. The rumors that have been heard warn not to go out after ten o'clock.
The chorus of the song repeats the plea to return: "Vuelve a mi ciudad, vuelve para acá, no te dejes engañar por el miedo" (return to my city, come back here, don't let fear deceive you) emphasizing that the singer should not be afraid and instead should return to their city, where they belong. The song acknowledges that times are currently tough and that there's no one dancing in the streets, but encourages listeners to remain strong like their "brave and bold" ancestors. The song stresses that freedom is what the people in the city are seeking and that they should not give up on this fight.
The lyrics of "Vuelve" allude to the political upheaval and violence often present in Latin American countries. The song shows that even in the midst of turmoil, there is still hope for change and for building a better future. The song is an inspiring anthem encouraging people to confront their fears and come together to strive for freedom and justice.

Grande mentira. Grande canción de Julieta. <3
