Kaye
Jupiter Sunrise Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Kaye, are you even real?
Do you think that maybe we could be lovers once in a while?
Say something I can feel
I am never here and it's impossible to heal
Go ahead and understand me underneath this killer blue sky
Go ahead and understand me please.

Kaye, are you even real?
Do you think we'll ever figure it out, I'm running out of hope
Say anything you feel
Maybe you can do it for the both of us and I'll untie the rope

Kaye, out there in the world I am full of their hate, their crime
In here we are both light and pure of heart
Out there in the world I am left for dead don't help me
In here it's like we can be pure of heart.

It's hard enough to breathe right here, let alone be right here, let alone here you say, "love."
It's hard enough trying to be strong right now
I try to be wrong right now
I try to be anything that doesn't scare her away.

Kaye, are you even real?
Do you think that maybe we could just stay here?

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Jupiter Sunrise's song Kaye depicts a desire for a deep, intimate connection with someone, possibly Kaye. The lyrics express a sense of frustration with the world outside because of the hate and crime that exists, but also a sense of peace and pureness that can be found within this intimate relationship with Kaye. The lyrics describe the struggle to be vulnerable and express love, and the fear of being rejected or scaring away the object of affection.

The repeated questioning of Kaye's reality and the hope of figuring things out suggests a sense of uncertainty and confusion that often accompanies the development of a new relationship. But despite this, there is a longing for a deeper connection and understanding. The use of contrasting imagery of a "killer blue sky" and being "pure of heart" likely represents the struggle to find goodness in a dark world and the hope to find purity in human connection.

Overall, the lyrics of Kaye express a deep desire for a loving connection and the fear of vulnerability and rejection. It paints a picture of the complexities of human emotion and the struggle to find hope and goodness in a world filled with darkness.

IMO one of the greatest bands to never really get recognized. Actually, one of the greatest bands ever. So sad there isn't more music from them. I'm sure they would have eventually been huge.

I LOVE this song! It's so freaking awesome. There seriously is nothing on the radio this good. It really makes me sad this song didn't go huge. I kind of wonder if it would if it got some air time today. Looking forward to your Malek and the Subtle Army project! Keep making music! You're awesome!

You guys played in benson Arizona years back, I couldn't make it, but I got a cd with Arthur nix on it and it's still one of my favorite songs. This song is phenomenal, best wishes and keep up the good work. As for me, I'll continue to spread your name

I remember listening to you guys on MySpace back in 2004-2005. Hearing Kaye brought me back to high school. What are you up to now?

Kaye

This is a bop!

I found the original old purple demo under the seat in my car yesterday, and man, that broke my heart thinking about you all going your separate ways. You guys all stayed in my parent's basement in Maryland one night and we ate veggie burgers and watched a Bob Dylan documentary, and that's still one of my favorite memories. Also, Mark, if you read this, is there any way to get a copy of My Guitar is My Pillow? You played that song live the last time I saw you guys, and I haven't found it since.
