Sleep
Just Jinger Lyrics

Madly in love, sadly no more
And though he'd been there to the end
His strength overcome by his weak
Just like a child, will take it no more,
She needed time, just to be sure
A sign of a thought that could bring dreams, bad dreams
A place he only could find in slumber
The only place where his mind could sleep, and sleep
All through a while, just to be sure
Down on the floor, just to be sure
And though he'd been there to the end
His strength overcome by his weak, he's so weak
A place he only could find in slumber
The only place where his mind could sleep, and sleep
Love and truth are quiet
While all the world will still deny it
A place he only could find in slumber
The only place where his mind could sleep, and sleep
A place he only could find in slumber
The only place where his mind could sleep, and sleep
The lyrics of Just Jinger's song Sleep talk about a person who was once in a loving relationship and even though he was committed till the end, his strength was overcome by his weakness. The chorus of the song "A place he only could find in slumber, The only place where his mind could sleep, and sleep" suggests that this person finds solace in sleep and dreams, a way to escape his reality. His lover needed time to figure out her feelings and the uncertainty made him anxious, which is evident from the lyrics "She needed time, just to be sure, Oh couldn't be there to the end, A sign of a thought that could bring dreams, bad dreams."
The last verse of the song "Love and truth are quiet, While all the world will still deny it" suggests that although love and truth are fundamental aspects of our lives, they are not always spoken of. This indicates that the person in the song may be struggling to come to terms with his emotions and may feel unheard in expressing his love and truth.

My daughter use to play this song on the guitar and she was singing it so passionately. She passed away last year 2021. When I hear this song I just want to cry. I miss you my baby

@Doret Bezuidenhout Hoe oud was sy gewees?
Indien ek overstep, se vir my.
Ek gaan ook maar deur probleme.
Sal dalk eerder op ander platform praat.
Nie so in die publiek nie.

I remember going through a real rough patch in S.A in 97-98 and decided to head out to the U.K for a couple of years, on my way to the airport I put the radio on in my dads car and this track started...I was absolutely shitting myself up until that point, this I took as a good omen...
I went and I ended up staying for 3 years, made some of the best friends i`ve ever made and had the time of my life...
This song still, and always will take me back to that cold August night in 98 when I cashed in my chips and took a chance...

I'm really hoping, praying and waiting to get out of S.A.

@Beverley van der Walt I came back in 01 and lasted until 2017...I got out again...to be fair, I really hate living in the UK, but, I have a roof over my head, a full time job that isn`t dictated by the color of my skin and where I live is pretty peaceful...for now...
If I had the money i`d come home tomorrow, regardless of the risk to life and soul...
