In 2010, Justice Crew won the fourth series of Australia's Got Talent. They were inspired to enter the competition after seeing Britain's Got Talent winners of 2009, Diversity. After receiving three Yes votes from all three judges in their audition, the group went on to compete in the second semi-finals, where they received a standing ovation, both from the audiences and the judges. In the end, they won the public vote and went on to compete in the grand finale. The first round of the grand final began on 8 June 2010, where Justice Crew performed their final routine. Judge Brian McFadden was so impressed with the performance, he stood on his seat and applauded. Even an often hard-to win over Kyle Sandilands was full of praise for the group's performance. Emmanuel Rodriguez of Justice Crew said the group scheduling as the second last act to perform added to the pressure to perform well. "They gave us more time to be nervous. But as soon as the music started, we knew we were going to nail it". On the Grand Final, held on 15 June 2010, it was announced that Justice Crew were the winners and were awarded a prize of $250,000, with singer-guitarist, Cameron Henderson becoming the runner up.
In August, it was announced the group had signed to Sony Music Australia for their hidden vocal talents, which fans didn't get to see during their time on Australia's Got Talent. "Sony asked if any of us could sing and we showed them what we could do. A week later, we were in the recording studio". In August 2010, they released their debut single, "And Then We Dance", which has so far peaked at No. 26 on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart and debuted No. 1 on the ARIA Physical Singles Chart.

Through the static noise around me
But I can't give up, so I keep on swimming
Through the ocean till you find me.
Life's a rolling wave
Your heart can keep me safe
Tonight, I'm floating toward my home, ooh
Lost in the water
Save me before I drown
Take me away tonight
Onto your iceberg
I'll let my anchor down
Under the northern lights
Your heart is home
We're a dancing flame
Our fire's always burning
Growing brighter all the time
Though the earth might shake
I know it's always turning
Cuz you remind me we'll be fine, yeah
Life's a rolling wave
Your heart can keep me safe
Tonight, I'm floating toward my home, ooh
Lost in the water
Save me before I drown
Take me away tonight
Onto your iceberg
I'll let my anchor down
Under the northern lights
Your heart is home
The lyrics of Justice Crew’s song “Rise & Fall” tell a story of two people on a journey to find each other. The opening lines suggest that the singer has been searching for the voice of their loved one, but has been unable to hear it over the noise of the world. However, they refuse to give up and continue to search. The subsequent lines use imagery of swimming through the ocean and being lost in the water, creating a sense of disorientation and confusion. The chorus of the song brings a glimmer of hope, with the singer feeling safe and at home in the heart of their loved one. They float towards this feeling like a wave, an apt metaphor for life’s ups and downs.
The second verse of the song continues the theme of searching, with the singer willing to drop anchor in their loved one’s life and find a home there under the northern lights. The use of “dancing flame” to describe their relationship is fitting, as it suggests movement and dynamism. The final lines of the verse and chorus repeat the earlier themes of needing to be saved before drowning and finding their home in their loved one’s heart. The song ends on a hopeful note, with the reminder that their love will weather any storms that come their way.
