Her debut album Ultraviolet was released on January 18, 2018, featuring the singles "U Don't Know" featuring Wizkid, "Back for More" featuring Jeremih, and "Don't Think About It". The album peaked at number 16 on the R&B Album Sales chart. Skye would release her fourth EP Bare With Me the following year in August 2019. The EP was later expanded as a full-length/deluxe album, with 4 bonus tracks.
Skye's third album Space + Time, executive produced by Timbaland, was released in June 2021, featuring guest appearances from Justin Timberlake & Rema. The following year, Skye's 2014 single "Collide" experienced a resurgence via the social media app TikTok, as it started to become a popular audio on the app. This led her to officially release the sped-up remix of the song, capitalising off the song's success. In January 2023, Skye would release the compilation album DARKSIDE, which took songs from both Bare With Me and Space + Time, while adding the original version of "Collide", as well as a newly-recorded solo version without Tyga and the previously released sped-up remix.

In the first verse of the song, Justine Skye describes the perfect scenario she wants with a lover, referring to a sports car that can convert to a convertible in which she and her partner can lay on the beach and get intimate. She mentions wanting to be sexually intimate with her partner while having a view that looks out over Mai Tais. Skye states that her connection with her love interest is genuine when she says, "Can I be honest? We both want it." She expresses her fear that her love interest might lose interest in their relationship and hopes that he'll "notice" that he's getting distracted. In the chorus of the song, Skye indicates that her partner doesn't appreciate the positive things about their relationship until she's gone.
In the second verse, Skye describes the problematic status of her relationship. Although she deeply feels for him, she's becoming more emotional and introspective, while he's content with partying without her.
