K-Ci and JoJo's first sign of independence came in 1994 when K-Ci covered Bobby Womack's hit "If You Think You're Lonely Now" for the movie Jason's Lyric. Early in 1996, K-Ci and Jo-Jo teamed up for the song "How Could You" for the movie Bulletproof starring Damon Wayans and Adam Sandler.
By July 1996, K-Ci and JoJo finally had a hit on their hands as guest artists in 2Pac's number-one R&B hit "How Do U Want It". It also topped the Billboard Hot 100. The brothers made their side projects into a full album, Love Always. Released on June 17, 1997, the album spawned two top-ten R&B hits: "You Bring Me Up" and "Last Night's Letter". "All My Life" was the number-one song on the Hot 100 for three weeks, a feat that K-Ci and Jo-Jo had never achieved with Jodeci.Love Always went on to sell four million copies, and the success of the album put Jodeci's reunion on hold indefinitely.
Their second album,It's Real, was released on June 22, 1999. It spawned one major hit "Tell Me It's Real" which peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard's R&B charts. K-Ci and Jo-Jo returned with X on December 5, 2000. "X", the Roman numeral for ten, was picked as the album title to celebrate the Haileys' tenth anniversary in the music business. They made a strong return to the Billboard Hot 100 early in 2001 with the song "Crazy", also included on the Save the Last Dance soundtrack. "Crazy" peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100.
The fourth K-Ci and Jo-Jo album, Emotional, was released on November 26, 2002, but failed to find commercial success. K-Ci and JoJo released a greatest hits album on February 8, 2005. They are believed to have teamed back up with DeVante Swing and Mr. Dalvin for a Jodeci reunion album.

Let's do it right, baby
Give me a reason, to love you again
I'm still not over, the pain you put me through
You know you were wrong
I couldn't take it no more, so I had to move on
I'm moving on
[Chorus]
I'm looking for an honest lover
Somebody that'll be there for me, I gotta find an honest lover
I'm looking for an honest lover
Somebody that'll be there for me, I'm moving on I'm moving on
You told me so many lies, you tried to convince me of your honesty
You see that wasn't good enough (Not good enough for me)
And I can't believe you betrayed me, and put our love in jeopardy
I can't believe that it was happening to me
I tried to hide it, but it didn't work
I couldn't take it no more, so I had to move on
I'm moving on
[Chorus]
[Bridge]
Give me a reason girl to take you back
I gotta keep moving on, I gotta be strong
Baby you know you done me wrong, so I gotta keep moving on
I gotta go, there's no turning back to you
[Chorus]
The song "Honest Lover" by K-Ci & JoJo is a classic R&B ballad about a relationship that's been hurt by dishonesty. The opening lines set the tone for the song, with the singer expressing his desire to make love tonight. However, this desire is mixed with a feeling of uncertainty and skepticism, as he sings about needing a reason to love his partner again. He's still hurting from the pain she caused him, and he knows that he can't just jump back into the relationship without some assurance that she's changed.
Throughout the song, the singer repeats the phrase "I'm moving on," indicating that he's ready to put the past behind him and find someone who will be an honest lover. The chorus is a plea for this kind of person, someone who will be there for him and never betray his trust. The bridge takes a more confrontational tone, with the singer asking his partner to give him a reason to take her back. He knows deep down that he has to keep moving on and can't turn back to her.
Overall, "Honest Lover" is a powerful song about the importance of trust and honesty in a relationship. It speaks to anyone who has gone through the pain of being lied to by someone they love and the struggle to move on from that hurt.
