Her interest in music developed at the age of six where she sang to her school mates mimicking Madonna and Mariah Carey songs. In later years she participated in school concerts singing songs of different artist.
In 1998 she launched her music career as a lead singer in a famous Tanzanian band known as The Tanzanites. Her two year contract included scheduled tours to Dubai, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi. In 2000 she took a break from the band to be a contestant in the Miss Tanzania Beauty pageant in which she won the title and represented Tanzania in the Miss World contest. She then dedicated the whole year during her reign as a beauty queen to charity work in Tanzania.
The following year she worked as a part time TV program presenter of a music program and a PR for a lotto company, and in 2003 she decided to record her first solo album. The single release of that album debut in 2004 and topped all local charts and the album was later nominated as ‘the best R&B album’ and ‘the best zouk song.
Currently she is due to release her second album titled ‘K-LYINN’ featuring her two singles and the videos of the singles released are receiving massive airplay. She is loved by fans for her charisma and her lyrical content that touch everyday life and relationship.
K-lyinn is planning on doing a tour in Africa after the release of her new album. She has been nominated as ‘the best female artist’ at the 2007 Kili Music Awards.
