Every time I think of life
Whenever I contemplate about existence and its many facets

That life isn't all misery
That life is not all suffering and hardship

Like with all of the things required
Including all the things that are deemed necessary

To live in this society
To coexist in this particular community

They say "Go to school get your degree
People often advise, "Attend an educational institution and obtain a credential

You'll get a good job you will see
You will eventually acquire a desirable occupation if you do so

Give up your dreams cause you wont make it
Relinquish your aspirations because they are unattainable

Forget it, move on, you're not free"
Disregard them and move in a different direction since you lack autonomy

You love something, but does it pay
You possess a passion, but does it monetarily compensate

Most people tend to never stray
The majority of individuals typically refrain from venturing outside the norm

Away from normal jobs and careers
From conventional occupations and professions

So why be different anyway
Thus, what is the reason for being distinctive

I hate the way it makes me feel
I despise the emotions it evokes inside of me

To know that my goals are so real
To acknowledge that my aims are so genuine

But really are they realistic
But in actuality, are they reasonable

Do I stop dreaming no big deal
Should I abandon my aspirations, nonchalantly and without concern

I'll never stop this feeling of
I shall forever retain this sensation of

The love of music in my heart
The deep affection for music within me

I'll never conform to the rules
I will not comply with the regulations
