1. Krishnakumar Kunnath is an Indian playback singer from Kerala. He is a prominent singer in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu films. His name is often confused with the similar screen name of a Bollywood actor, Kay Kay Menon.
Krishnakumar Kunnath was brought up in New Delhi. A graduate of Delhi University, he waited at tables for 6 months before he got his break, singing in a jingle for a commercial. He appeared in "Josh of India" song for the support of Indian Cricket Team during Cricket World Cup 1999. Following this,he released an album called 'Pal', the title song of which struck a chord with listeners. Another song titled "Yaaron" from the same album was also popular.
His first song for a Bollywood flick was "Chhod Aaye Hum" (Maachis). But it was the song "Tadap Tadap Ke Is Dil", from the movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, that brought him into limelight.
Starting off from Hindi, he sang his way to the southern part of the country, singing in Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Assamese and even Kannada; the song "Uyirin Uyirae" from the Tamil movie "Kakha Kakha" ("Cheliya Cheliya" from the Telugu movie Gharsanna) being one of the better-known songs. He has received six Filmfare Awards nominations, and a Filmfare Awards South.
Back in Bollywood, he notched up winners with songs such as "Tu Aashiqui Hai" from "Jhankaar Beats" (for which he received a National Award), "Chand Ki Roshni Se" from "Home Delivery" and the smash hit "Dus Bahaane" (with Shaan) from the film "Dus". Recently, his hit songs "Tu Hi Meri Shab Hai" from the movie Gangster, "Soniye Soniye" from "Aksar","Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar Hai" from "Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar Hai","Alvida Alvida" from "Life in a Metro" and "Kya Mujhe Pyaar Hai" from "Woh Lamhe" have cemented his place as one of Bollywood's most talented vocalists.

His distinctive voice, which seems to get even clearer with the increase in pitch, and his style of rendition are his biggest assets. He created a rage in tamil with the song "Appadi Podu ". The reclusive singer finally came out of the shadows to be one of the judges in the popular reality show Fame Gurukul in 2005.
On 31 May 2022, KK performed at the Gurudas College Fest at Nazrul Mancha, Kolkata. He complained of feeling unwell soon after his performance on the way back to his hotel where he suffered a cardiac arrest. Efforts to revive him at the hotel were unsuccessful. He was subsequently taken to a hospital in Kolkata where he was declared dead on arrival. He was 53 years old at the time of his death.

Ab kya kahein kya na kahein (x2)
Ishare bhi chup hain
Zubaan khamosh hai
Sadaa gumsum si hai
Tanha aagosh hai
Kyun faaslon mein bhi tu yaara re (x2)
Tu chhoot kar kyun chhoota nahi
Kuch toh judaa hai abhi
Main toot kar kyun toota nahi
Jeene mein hai tu kahin
Ishaare bhi chup hain
Zubaan khamosh hai
Sada gumsum si hai
Tanha aagosh hai
Yara re, yara re..
Kyun faaslon mein bhi tu yaara re (x2)
Hai har ghadi woh tishnagi
Jo ek pal bhi na bujhi
Hai zindagi chalti hui
Par ye zindagi hi nahi
Ishare bhi chup hain
Zubaan khamosh hai
Sada gumsum si hai
Tanha aagosh hai
Yaara re, yaara re..
Kyun faaslon mein bhi tu yaara re (x2)
The lyrics to K.K.'s song "Yaara Re" express a sense of loneliness and disconnection. The lines "Ajnabi kahe ki apna kahe / Ab kya kahein kya na kahein" suggest a feeling of not knowing whether to express oneself as a stranger or as someone familiar. The verses also describe a silence that can be both comforting and suffocating, as indicated by "Ishare bhi chup hain / Zubaan khamosh hai / Sadaa gumsum si hai / Tanha aagosh hai." The chorus repeats the question "Kyun faaslon mein bhi tu yaara re," asking why the person remains distant even when physically close.
The second half of the song focuses on a sense of unfinished business or unrealized potential. The lines "Tu chhoot kar kyun chhoota nahi / Kuch toh judaa hai abhi / Main toot kar kyun toota nahi / Jeene mein hai tu kahin" express a desire to break free from something holding them back, as well as a sense of being incomplete without the other person. The final lines of the song "Hai har ghadi woh tishnagi / Jo ek pal bhi na bujhi / Hai zindagi chalti hui / Par ye zindagi hi nahi" suggest that life is an unquenchable thirst, always moving forward but never truly fulfilling.
Overall, "Yaara Re" is a poignant and introspective song that speaks to the complexities of human relationships and emotions.
