Although I hail from a place of strength and dignity, there are still struggles and hardships that affect me

But violent prone, poor people zone
Unfortunately, violence is prevalent in the areas where poor people live

But it's my home, all I have known
Despite everything, my home is all I've ever had, and it's where my heart is

Where I got grown, streets we would roam
This is where I came of age, and I spent a lot of time exploring these streets with my peers

Out of the darkness, I came the farthest
Through difficult experiences, I progressed the most, shining like a light in the darkness

Among the hardest survival
I faced daunting challenges that required great resilience and perseverance

Learn from these streets, it can be bleak
Although these streets offer valuable life lessons, they can also be unpleasant places

Accept no defeat, surrender, retreat
Despite the difficulties I face, I won't surrender or give up; instead, I'll persist and ultimately succeed

So we struggling, fighting to eat
Many of us struggle against poverty and the scarcity of food resources

And we wondering when we'll be free
We yearn for the day when we'll no longer be held captive and will be able to live in freedom

So we patiently wait for that fateful day
We know that freedom is coming, and we wait with unwavering patience

It's not far away, but for now we say
Freedom is imminent and inevitable, but in the meantime, we keep proclaiming our hope for it

So many wars, settling scores
There have been and continue to be many wars fought over territorial dominance and power

Bringing us promises, leaving us poor
Promises of wealth and security often fail to materialize, perpetuating economic hardship instead

I heard them say, "love is the way"
People often try to solve problems with love and unity rather than hostility or aggression

"Love is the answer," that's what they say
Love is seen as the solution to many of the world's problems

But look how they treat us, make us believers
Despite these seemingly positive messages, we are still mistreated and exploited

We fight their battles, then they deceive us
We are often recruited to fight other people's wars, only to be betrayed in the end

Try to control us, they couldn't hold us
Despite their attempts to control us, we are free and independent, and they can't take that away from us

'Cause we just move forward like Buffalo Soldiers
We march bravely and steadfastly forward like famous American soldiers from history

And everybody will be singing it
When freedom finally comes, everyone will be celebrating and singing about it

And you and I will be singing it
We will be among those singing and rejoicing

And we all will be singing it
Everyone, regardless of social or economic status, will be united in celebrating their freedom

When I get older
As I mature and gain more life experience

I will be stronger
I will be stronger in my belief and pursuit of freedom

Just like a wavin' flag
My spirit and my message will be as powerful and striking as a flag waving in the wind
