I love how Nin protects her child alters by not listing their names or making videos of them, introducing them, etc. It is very important that she protects the littles from any harm. I also love how in her videos that she only uses positive triggers and shows the older alters and alters that are comfortable on camera.

This actually quite fascinating. Nin, Kyle and kid in same body, and watching her body language, voice and general behavior change as another personality takes over is just... unreal. And it's not a violent chaotic "fight for wheel" as Split makes it look like, it's more like a calm family sailing on same ship.

Well, that's because Nin, Kyle, and the little are all literally the same individual, just different part of her personality. DID is a disorder that is brought about through past trauma and harmful coping mechanisms. In an attempt to cope with difficult emotions and trauma children will often displace these emotions onto to different made up personifications to cope.

@yahalomren for us, it is either. Some do grow older and some dont. It normally depends on what they do; if they are a trauma holder as well they will typically stay as young as they are when they split. however, if they arent, they'll age up with time. some age yearly, some age faster, some age slower. but they can age and they can also not, is all! -Asra

I came into this fairly skeptical. Obviously I recognize the brain is complex and can be affected by wild issues.
I'm still somewhat confused, but at the same time, I've come away having gained a realization this is likely a real thing these people suffer with.
I accept it is recognized medically/scientifically, and having done some light research and see it's very much legit.
I also recognize there are people who are either using this aesthetically or incorrectly labelling themselves with this affliction.

For anyone like myself who might be cautious to believe freely, please remember that what they feel can't literally be shared with you, and like other mental issues like depression, it's likely you can't experience it unless you actually have it.

I love how when Nin started to talk about when she realized she had DID and she started to sound more distressed, Anthony led the conversation gently to his own experience and talking about it a little while also engaging her as a "teacher", which is how she became more comfortable again because she loves telling people about these things.

When the little came out and started crying it made us tear up a little seeing exactly how we’ve felt for years being vocalized. We’re an OSDD system, and even though it’s slightly different from DID, the effects are still relatively the same emotionally and watching this interview really made us feel less alone in our experiences as a system who had recently come to terms with our plurality, and have been self diagnosed with hopes of seeing a professional for each of us to share our stories and our voices. It’s nice to know we aren’t alone not only in our head, but in the world.

My ex had a friend(s) with DID. I refused to believe it was real until her friend started shifting persons. Ive seen actors. And this is 100% another person(s) in one body. You can see it in their eyes. I have BPD and have personality problems but im always me yknow? Im too much for one brain. Having multiple people living in your body with you must be quite the experience and mad respect to these lovely folk.

Great interview! Learned so much. Anthony is wonderful. Knew it when I watched Smosh as a kid. Know it now seeing how he is with people.

It is important to remember that DID is a self masking disorder. For us we all try really hard to act like one person, and while we've had a bit of trouble with people questioning the changes in personality and behavior, a lot of the time it goes unnoticed. The whole point of DID is to keep the body and everyone occupying it safe - if everyone would be able to tell (especially abusers) that would be dangerous.
I'm glad you're more educated now, and I hope you never decide to not believe someone about having any sort of disorder again - it is not your place.

I once knew someone with DID, but I didn't know they had it. I would talk with them and hang out and after 2 years of that, they let me know. They claimed to have 18 alters and ended up blocking me just days later. I don't understand why, yet I worry for them and still send them a happy birthday message every year. I'm not sure if Alters can have different birthdays but I still send that one simple message every year on the day I know and hope they're doing well.

After three years of birthday wishes I got a "Thanks" back. I still to this day have no idea how they are doing but wish them nothing but the best.

The way anthony treated Dissaciadid's little amazes me every time. He provided such a positive and safe space for them and the way he kept checking in to make sure they were okay and comfortable with what was going on melted my heart. It's truly such an amazing example. I do truly tear up every time they cry, but I'm so glad they had someone like Anthony around to help try to comfort them and reassure them it's okay when they apologized.

Nin's little had me so upset I actually started crying... I wanted to reach out and hug them so badly... to front and talk about that must have been so hard, and I can't imagine the memories/experiences that alter may have had... As they are today, Each part of these folks you interviewed deserves to live comfortably, but I wish whatever they went through that led to this happening never occurred so their lives would have been so much easier... a whole inner world sounds interesting, but stuff like the toy store trigger for the little alter and possibility of them roaming the world until another switch frightens me, I'm scared for their safety...

That’s so amazing of him, especially if you watch DissociaDID’s channel, they usually don’t film their Littles so saying that and asking was incredibly respectful. Also in regards to that, that Little was so brave and gave such a good answer.

Wow, i’m late to this but if i’m being honest i’ve never really been totally educated on the subject of DID. These interviews were amazing though, very informing, and I just love every single one of these people and their systems. Nin and Kyle’s little was so precious and brought me to tears, you are not alone 😢❤

My friends (the system) have DID and I’m really trying my best to support. I’m so glad I’m able to learn more and a few days ago, one of their littles came out to talk to me and they just rested on my lap. I have never cried so much. I’m so happy to learn and understand how they feel. If there’s anyone seeing this comment as late as me, if you are someone with or without DID, I hear you, and I understand, I love you. You are all so special and wonderful ❤

My best friend has DID, so far he has 3 Alters, and developing more. I've spoken with all of them, one of them is causing significant problems in his life. Sadly not even his own father believes him, and it's only getting worse. Anyone with DID, I understand you, I believe you.

I have a friend with DID they have 21 alters that I know of currently and I knew a bit about DID before I met them but not really much and this video really helped me understand DID more. It's hard to remember when I'm talking to them that I could be having a conversation with 2 different people and sometimes I completely forget they aren't just the first person I met but I'm slowly learning and I'm doing good so far :)

The fact that he was so incredibly chill about this subject and was accounting and understanding each person personalities makes me really think that he was meant for this and that he should have a talk show on tv to bring light to things like this.

ShwangerLanz I agree, although tv has more audience the producers can shit on the content creator, some people are beyond controlling that I can't even think of a word for it. But I guess YouTube is trying to control content now so I hope we can find a better platform.

I mean.... he DOES have a talk show, it’s just on YouTube. It has more of a chance of being seen on YouTube versus cable TV or a streaming service.

I’m thankful my psychology teacher showed us a movie on a lady who had dozens of personalities. It baffles me that teachers would show Split as if it was suppose to be educational. When I watched Split it was just ridiculous and I couldn’t get into it at all, but that did spark me actually researching and watching videos of people with the disorder.

It’s as common was people with red hair.. interesting because my work is notorious for hiring people with naturally red hair, so almost a dozen of my coworkers have naturally red hair and even more who dye it red 😂 Makes me wonder how many people I know have D.I.D.

There is one person I’ve met who has it actually.. I went to high school with him and he was my ex’s friend. When my ex was in their creative writing class together and the teacher was talking his friend started shouting,”Where am I? Who are you people??” And ran out of the room. His mom was a therapist actually and she helped him through it, as far as I know he doesn’t have it anymore..

This is a little surreal but also extremly interesting. It'd be very interesting to know how the brain actually manages to create these alternatives and if the part of the brain currently active, actually shapes or influences how the alters are going to act.

But yeah Anthony wasn't the problem,
The fact that the little managed to stay so professional (likely subconsciously)
Meant Disosiadid could keep in most of the interaction,
Without revealing sensitive information in public.

Nin explained this on DissociaDID, Nin tried to switch back after Kyle but somehow, a Little got in the middle and came forth in the body. Nin wanted to delete it because it could’ve been harmful to the Little but after watching the footage, she let it because the Little’s speech was powerful, and no compromising information had been spilled.
