Sounds Like A Hit
KIDZ BOP Kids Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
What r we gonna do wit all of their money
I like magazines
I like jukebox machines
And all the lyrics to this song are fake
The lyrics to KIDZ BOP Kids' song Sounds Like A Hit are an interesting combination of contradictory statements. The song opens with the line "Sounds like a hit smells like a pit," which seems to be a juxtaposition of a catchy tune with an unpleasant odor. The line could be interpreted as a critique of the music industry, which often prioritizes commercial success over artistic quality. The next line, "What r we gonna do wit all of their money," furthers this critique by raising the question of what happens when artists become successful and accumulate wealth. The line implies that success is not necessarily a good thing and suggests that there may be negative consequences to selling out.
The rest of the song consists of seemingly unrelated statements, such as "I like magazines" and "I like jukebox machines." These lines could be interpreted as a commentary on consumerism and the way in which we are constantly inundated with messages to consume products. The final line, "And all the lyrics to this song are fake," serves as a meta-commentary on the song itself. By acknowledging that the lyrics are fake, the song draws attention to the artifice of pop music and challenges the notion that pop songs need to be based on real experiences or emotions.
