Ab kya kahein kya na kahein (x2)
Ishare bhi chup hain
Zubaan khamosh hai
Sadaa gumsum si hai
Tanha aagosh hai
Kyun faaslon mein bhi tu yaara re (x2)
Tu chhoot kar kyun chhoota nahi
Kuch toh judaa hai abhi
Main toot kar kyun toota nahi
Jeene mein hai tu kahin
Ishaare bhi chup hain
Zubaan khamosh hai
Sada gumsum si hai
Tanha aagosh hai
Yara re, yara re..
Kyun faaslon mein bhi tu yaara re (x2)
Hai har ghadi woh tishnagi
Jo ek pal bhi na bujhi
Hai zindagi chalti hui
Par ye zindagi hi nahi
Ishare bhi chup hain
Zubaan khamosh hai
Sada gumsum si hai
Tanha aagosh hai
Yaara re, yaara re..
Kyun faaslon mein bhi tu yaara re (x2)
The lyrics of the song "Yaara Re" by KK follow a theme of loneliness, longing, and the inability to express emotions. The first two lines of the song talk about a stranger who can be considered one's own, but the confusion of what to say or not to say generates distance. The song brings out the struggle of someone who is holding back their emotions, their ishaare (gestures) are silenced, and their words are unsaid. The singer feels enclosed in the lonely embrace of their feelings as they call out to their friend "Yaara," which in Hindi means friend, asking why they are still far away.
The second stanza ends with the lines "Jeene mein hai tu kahin" which means "You are somewhere in my life, in my living." That line portrays how the presence of the friend still persists in the singer's life but is not visible. They wonder why they both cannot let go and move apart if they cannot be together, perhaps referring to a love that cannot be fulfilled or a distance that has come in between them.
Overall, the song depicts a struggle with one's emotions and the inability to express them, leading to a feeling of loneliness and isolation despite the presence of others around them.

Ajnabi kahe ki apna kahe
When someone is a stranger, they don't know whether to call it their own or not
Ab kya kahein kya na kahein
What to say now, what not to say
Ishare bhi chup hain
Even the gestures are silent
Zubaan khamosh hai
The tongue is silent
Sadaa gumsum si hai
It's always quiet
Tanha aagosh hai
There's a lonely embrace
Yaara re, yaara re..
Oh my friend, my friend..
Kyun faaslon mein bhi tu yaara re
Why even in distance, you're still my friend?
Tu chhoot kar kyun chhoota nahi
Why don't you break away even though you left?
Kuch toh judaa hai abhi
Something is still separated
Main toot kar kyun toota nahi
Why am I not shattered even though I broke?
Jeene mein hai tu kahin
You're somewhere in my life
Hai har ghadi woh tishnagi
There's always that thirst
Jo ek pal bhi na bujhi
Which never quenches even for a moment
Hai zindagi chalti hui
Life keeps moving forward
Par ye zindagi hi nahi
But this is not life
