2. KM was raised in Brooklyn, NY and recently moved to Portland, OR. She didn't really learn to play guitar till she was in high school and didn't become serious about till jr. year in college. For a while, as with all college-aged kids, she was whiny, angsty, and mildly over-dramatic. That's where a good number of her original songs come from. Looking back, it all seems somewhat silly and sounds like badly written poetry.
It's been a number of years since she's written any original stuff and has submitted to the masters who can write stories and songs - instead she just does cover songs with a slant. Maybe if her whining side kicks back in and the "whoa is me" syndrome comes back, she will have new songs. Till then... she will be playing her guitar with the crack in it.
Babylon

Dus geef me die tonnen
Let's go
Stel me please geen vragen, jij bent Babylon
Stel me please geen vragen, jij bent Babylon
No bin bishita pa wak mi
Pa yen motibu nan ta purba serami, huy
Babylon mino ta papia kubo bo t'n Babylon
Mino por hode kubo bo t'n Babylon
Mino ta papia kubo bo t'n Babylon, Babylon
Stel me please geen vragen, jij bent Babylon
Een gekke week is minimaal zes⦠zes shows
Let's go
Stel me please geen vragen, jij bent Babylon
Stel me please geen vragen, jij bent Babylon
In these lyrics, KM expresses his confidence and disdain for those he perceives as artificial or fake. He starts by stating that he and his crew are rocking Dior and want more, emphasizing their desire for success and material wealth. KM asserts that he only speaks facts and that his crew is genuine and one hundred percent real. He mentions a bad bitch from London, suggesting his appeal to attractive women, and expresses their ambition to acquire wealth and demands to be given "die honderd" (the hundreds, likely referring to money).
I can't talk to you, you are Babylon), reinforces KM's negative perception of certain individuals. In this context, the term "Babylon" is likely used metaphorically to describe those who are deceitful or corrupt. He doesn't want to engage with them or answer their questions because they embody the negative qualities he associates with Babylon.
In the second verse, KM reflects on his life and the challenges he has faced. He mentions that he is familiar with difficult situations, as his life has been varied and different. He acknowledges that people continue to try and force their way into his life, but they struggle to find him. He switches between languages (Papiamento and Dutch) to express his frustration and state that Babylon cannot understand him or his perspective.
The chorus is repeated to emphasize KM's disinterest in engaging with those he deems as Babylon. Again, the term is used metaphorically to describe individuals he perceives as fake or deceptive.
In the final verse, KM warns others to stay away if they have been talking to the authorities (Five-O). He asserts his position and status by stating that he lives in a penthouse, not on the fifth floor of a regular building. KM proclaims that he and his crew plan on becoming rich and urges his friends to join him. He mentions having a busy week, likely filled with performances or shows. He humorously compares his influence to giving people Henny (Hennessy), a popular alcoholic beverage, causing them to act like lesbians. KM questions if women who show interest in him also bring a friend, highlighting his desirability.
He concludes the song by restating his perspective on Babylon, asserting that those who tap into his romantic interests, both his current and previous partners, are crazy or irrational. The repetition of this chorus at the end reinforces KM's contempt for those he perceives as treacherous or untrustworthy.
