Together with colleagues Tokollo Tshabalala and Zwai Bala, Kabelo was a member of the South African kwaito group called Tkzee.

Kabelo released his first solo album called Pantsula 4 life in 2001 and has subsequently released several successful albums. In 2004 he won the Kora Award for Best Southern Africa Male Artist.
