Midnight Sun
Kah Hubert Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Heard you saying goodbye my friend
Midnight sun's the place we'll meet again
Christmas eve some night set in
Didn't know the meaning came from within
You can count on your friend
Just follow the midnight sun
Midnight sun
Yellow peeled off garden fence
Would you run and play with me again
He maybe got to know my dreams and know my life
Happened in between now that he died
I said call on my friend
Call on my friend
We follow the midnight sun
Midnight sun
Everyday I go insane
Walking on the mines that I have laid
And maybe I will never see that midnight sun
You'll be shining like a burning flame
You can count on your friend
Count on your friend
We follow the midnight sun
And maybe you'll lend me your hand
You can count on your friend
To follow the midnight sun, midnight sun
We follow the midnight sun, midnight sun
The song "Midnight Sun" by Kah Hubert is a beautiful tribute to a dear friend who has passed away. The opening lines of the song, "Heard you saying goodbye my friend, Midnight sun's the place we'll meet again" immediately set the tone for the rest of the song. It seems as though the friend's passing was unexpected and the Midnight Sun is the place they will reunite.
As the song unfolds, we hear the singer reminiscing about the good times they had with their friend. The lyrics, "Yellow peeled off garden fence, would you run and play with me again" evoke a sense of innocence, of simpler times. The singer then reflects on how their friend must have known them very well, saying "He maybe got to know my dreams and know my life, Happened in between now that he died".
The chorus, "You can count on your friend, Count on your friend, Just follow the midnight sun, Midnight sun" is a message of hope and reassurance that even though their friend is no longer physically present, they are still with them in spirit. The closing lines of the song, "And maybe you'll lend me your hand, You can count on your friend, To follow the midnight sun, midnight sun, We follow the midnight sun, midnight sun" is a reminder that the singer will always have their friend to rely on, even through the darkest of days.
