People say he's crazy, evil, a psychopath, etc. I think it's far more complex than that. He appears to have neurological issues that have contributed to a personality disorder - perhaps being somewhere on the autistic spectrum. Setting his mother's murder aside, he clearly isn't normal to begin with. His mother and brother seem to have disregarded that fact, even minimizing it as simply being "different" or "quiet". It's as though they were living in denial.

I don't know what financial issues his mother may have had, but it is clear she neglected his neurological issues and didn't get him the medical attention he needed. He obviously can't process or express appropriate social behavior; it's no wonder he is capable of murder without remorse. He simply doesn't understand or can't process the gravity of what he did the way a normal person can.

I don't think he's evil; I do think he has an abnormal brain for which there is no help or cure. He most definitely needs to be institutionalized - though proving he is capable of murder, he should be kept away from others. His brain is certainly something scientists should study, if for no other reason than to find more clues that cause both sociopathy and psychopathy. It's sad, but fascinating, too.

i have worked in two hospitals in security. in both we were called to the mental wings to deal with mental patients, as a show of force or if necessary restrain them. in all those times i have come across only one i really thought this is not a mental patient, but a case of possession. this one is another. the way he nods, his voice, and if you watch his lips it's as tho his lip movement does not match his words a lot.

I'm planning on majoring in psychology, I'm already taking the college classes for it. And I know that psychopaths like him are hard to understand, because something is wrong with their brain that isn't visible with a scan.
I just can't imagine how many people Phil has interviewed, and honestly I'm jealous. I would love to hear the twisted minds of these people because they think like no other. And maybe we can better understand why they're so crazy, what made them snap, or what made them who they are.
The fascinating part is, we will never know why or how. Some serial killers grew up in a healthy household, never getting bullied, was taken care of better than nice people who actually deserved that kind of care. But instead, they murder. Why? No one knows. Not even them.

The father also died from Lou gehrigs so he could have some genetic predisposition to Juvenile ALS, which may have gone unnoticed being still very mild but could account for that unusual voice due to loss of vocal muscle tone. I recommend a CT scan and some genetic testing.

Scared me because my grandson threatened my daughter, he out a knife by her throat and he had beaten her before a few times, he is never been arrested, he is only 14! I can expect the worse, she looks like thinks it never going to happen! When I spoke to her she telling me stop saying that!
