And now, the end is near
As I approach the end of my life, I feel its closeness.

And so I face the final curtain
As I come to the end, I'm facing the final moments of my life just like the final moments of a play where the curtain comes down.

My friend, I'll say it clear
Honestly and openly, my friend, I'll speak from my heart.

I'll state my case, of which I'm certain
I'll explain my life story, which I'm absolutely sure about.

I've lived a life that's full
My life has been full and satisfying.

I've traveled each and every highway
In my life, I've experienced every possible path and its struggles.

Oh, and more, much more than this
I did not limit myself to one path, but tried and accomplished more things than I ever imagined possible.

I did it my way
I lived my life the way I wanted to, with no regrets.

Regrets, I've had a few
Although my life has been fulfilling, there are some moments which I don't like to remember.

But then again, too few to mention
However, those moments are minor and I don't want to dwell on them.

I did what I had to do
I did what was necessary to live my life the way I wanted to.

And saw it through without exemption
I didn't take any shortcuts or excuses to achieve things in my life.

I planned each charted course
I planned each of my goals and how to achieve them.

Each careful step along the byway
I carefully considered each path I took to achieve my goals.

But more, much more than this
However, my accomplishments exceeded my expectations.

I did it my way
I succeeded in life on my own terms and lived it with grace.

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
Although I achieved success in my life, there were difficult moments that those around me knew about.

When I bit off more than I could chew
There are times I tried to achieve more than I was capable of or took on more responsibility than I could handle.

But through it all, when there was doubt
Throughout all the challenging times, I never lost faith in myself and my abilities.

I ate it up and spit it out
I faced every challenge head-on and conquered it.

I faced it all and I stood tall
I encountered every obstacle with courage and overcame it, never backing down or cowering.

And did it my way
I accomplished everything I've ever wanted to by following my own beliefs and never quitting.

I've loved, I've laughed, and cried
During my life's journey, I've experienced its many emotions like love, laughter, and tears.

Had my fill, my share of losing
I've experienced and faced difficulties and troubles in some aspects of my life.

And now, as tears subside
As I come to the end of my life, my emotional pains have subsided.

I find it all so amusing
In hindsight, I find much of the difficulties and sorrows I faced in my life amusing.

To think I did all that
I'm amazed at how much I accomplished in my life.

And may I say, not in a shy way
I'm not afraid to say that I'm proud of all that I've achieved.

"Oh no, oh no not me
I never relied on anyone else but myself to succeed.

I did it my way"
I accomplished everything in my life on my own terms and through sheer determination.

For what is a man, what has he got?
What's the worth of a man and what does he have without his individuality and the life he's lived?

If not himself, then he has naught
Without his true self and individuality, a man has nothing.

To say the things he truly feels
Speaking honestly and sharing one's true feelings is vital for an individual's sense of self-worth.

And not the words of one who kneels
An individual shouldn't acquiesce to others' opinions or beliefs if they go against their own.

The record shows I took the blows
My achievements and life tell the story of the obstacles and difficulties I faced and how I overcame them.

And did it my way
Despite the hardships, I succeeded in life by following my own beliefs and never giving up.
