Blow
Kandia Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The grief destroys your kin
Shallow
Kids who climb over
They have no ideals
In God's way
A menace
Picking on the weak
Insult your species
We're bullied by...
Insightful, unbroken
Still proud of all you ever were
The minute you walk right past that door
You're never looking back
So sick of all the hatred
You just let it blow
Swallow the hurt and the sorrow
The grief destroys your kin
Shallow
Kids who climb over
They have no ideals
In God's way ´
A menace
Picking on the weak
Never
Insult your species
We're bullied by...
Just like a little time bomb
Ready to blow off
Tick, tick, tick, tick, tock
You're pulling the pin off
And let the anger out
Insightful, unbroken
Still proud of all you ever were
Insightful, unbroken
Still proud of all you ever were
The minute you walk right past that door
You're never looking back
So sick of all the hatred
You just let it blow
The minute you walk right past that door
You're never looking back
You're never looking back
Just let it blow!
The lyrics of Kandia's song "Blow" convey a message of resilience and empowerment in the face of adversity and bullying. The repeated phrase "swallow the hurt and sorrow" suggests the need to internalize pain and grief, though ultimately it can have destructive consequences on relationships and families. The mention of "shallow kids who climb over" without ideals implies a lack of empathy and values in those who perpetuate bullying behavior, positioned as a menace to the weak.
The lyrics also speak to the strength of the individual, urging against insulting one's own species. The idea of being bullied by others is highlighted, possibly referencing societal pressures and injustices that one may face. The refrain of being "insightful, unbroken" and proud of one's past emphasizes the importance of self-awareness and perseverance in the face of challenges.
The imagery of a time bomb ready to explode symbolizes pent-up anger and frustration, with the ticking clock creating a sense of urgency. The act of "pulling the pin off" is likened to releasing this anger and letting it out, suggesting a cathartic release of pent-up emotions. The repeated encouragement to "just let it blow" reinforces the idea of not holding onto negativity and allowing oneself to move forward.
The repetition of the line "The minute you walk right past that door, you're never looking back" indicates a turning point towards a new beginning and leaving behind the past, especially the hatred and negativity that may have been experienced. The call to not look back and to simply let go encapsulates a message of liberation and self-empowerment, ultimately encouraging listeners to release negativity, stand strong in their identity, and move forward with resilience and pride.
