1) [1] a UK hip hop / grime rapper
2) [2] a classic italo-disco project.
3) [3] a Japanese singer who covers Vocaloid songs.
[1] In his early teens Kano attended Langdon Comprehensive School in East Ham, Newham, where his mother still works. Kano was a promising footballer, representing Chelsea F.C., Junior Hammers and Norwich City by the age of thirteen, but in the end he abandoned his sporting ambitions in favour of a musical career. His cousin Jonathan Fortune plays for Charlton Athletic.
His first track was "Boys Love Girls". Kano first became known on the UK grime scene for his work with his original group, N.A.S.T.Y Crew (Natural Artistic Sounds Touching You). From this springboard he was signed as a solo artist and began work on his debut solo album.
He is signed to 679 Recordings and is a label mate of The Streets. He was also a key member in East London’s N.A.S.T.Y. Crew. However, since being signed to 679 recordings, he has now left N.A.S.T.Y Crew, and took Demon and Ghetto with him.
Home Sweet Home was a great critical success, from across the British press, most notably The Independent and The Observer, two creditable UK based newspapers. Many artists in the UK and US have expressed positive views of the album, including Busta Rhymes, Nas, RZA, Jay-Z, Andre 3000 and Chuck D of Public Enemy.
Towards the end of 2005, Kano also released a mixtape, Beats & Bars, which is currently only available at his concerts.
London Town was released on September 10, 2007, which included hit single, "This Is The Girl", featuring Craig David. London Town includes tracks featuring Gorillaz member Damon Albarn formerly of Blur, Kate Nash, Craig David, Vybz Kartel and Leo The Lion.
Kano is also releasing a special Deluxe Limited Edition that includes a DVD featuring a interview with Kano, This Is The Girl video and acoustic studio footage with Craig David.
Kano has now left 679 recordings.

[2] Kano was a post-disco music project formed in 1979 by Italian-based producers/musicians Luciano Ninzatti, Stefano Pulga and Matteo Bonsanto. They were early producers of a style of Italian dance music called Italo-disco, a blend of 1970s disco and funk with the addition of synthesizers.
Kano's sound was first heard on radio stations and in dance clubs around the world with their debut hit single, 1980's "I'm Ready", from their self-titled debut album (which also included the minor hits, "It's a War" and the instrumental track "Cosmic Voyager"). The b-side of "I'm Ready", "Holly Dolly" used the same essential production elements. "I'm Ready" also peaked at #21 on the Black Singles chart. "It's a War" was also a big hit on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in the U.S., reaching #2 for five weeks.
The project went on to record two other albums, including 1981's "New York Cake" (which included the minor hits "Don't Try to Stop Me", and "Can't Hold Back") and 1983's "Another Life" (including the title track and "I Need Love") which introduced West Indian-born singer Glen White. Their last song was 1985's "This Is the Night".
"I'm Ready" was later used as a sample on a few songs, such as Gigolo Tony's 1986 hit "Hokie Pokie" and Rofo's 1987 hit "Flashlight In A Disconight". The most well-known use of it as a sample is on Tag Team's 1993 hit, "Whoomp! (There It Is)". "Another Life" was remixed by Master Blaster featuring in their 2003 album "We Love Italo Disco". "Another Life" was also sampled in the 2005 track "Discopolis" by Lifelike & Kris Menace. "Ikeya Seki" was sampled by the French electro house artist Kavinsky for his track "Grand Canyon", which appeared on his 2007 EP, 1986.

Kano Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Like, you know when you got a good girl,
Or you know when she means something to you, & you got like, a name.
Here we go again
Here we go
Like I had a name for this girl, I used to call her "ladybird",
Link em & leave then em high,
I've been tellin all my man's for time,
Link em and then leave em high,
They never take my advice,
But now I realise, I realise why,
They have not been listening all this time,
Cos since I linked you, last night,
I wont be taking my advice
Look,
I call her nite nite
But we getting on fine right,
I don't wanna spoil it,
I don't why I can't commit to girls,
And I tell white lies, I'll find out the hard way,
Cos she got my favourite smile, her favourite style,
The first hotel, my favourite time,
And maybe later we could have a baby, maybe a baby boy, my
Favourite child,
"I'm way too tired", my favourite lie,
I wasnt too sure of her favourite rhyme
The windows are steaming up like it's naked time,
Wait, we're way too bait,
I bought her favourite shoes, or they better be,
And she's even my favourite size,
And she knows I hate holding hands, and I'm hooded up when it's
Bait inside,
So I guess she's my favorite, right?
Right,
Cos nothing comes close to you.
So numbers? No boys are taking yours,
And no girls are taking mine,
Groupies? **** that, I'm taking time,
We speak from like 8 till late at night,
When we gets on top, drop my favourite line:
Girl, I ain't going nowhere.
I plain ain't going nowhere,
But, I like you, and it might take some time,
But really I'm like
Here we go again,
Link em & leave then em high,
I've been tellin all my man's for time,
Link em and then leave em high,
They never take my advice,
But now I realise, I realise why,
They have not been listening all this time,
Cos since I linked you, last night,
I wont be taking my advice
I call her sometimes, and I wake her up at some dumb times,
Touch my phone, and her number my thumb finds,
Cos she's ideal, like a nice meal,
And a night in, with a nice feel,
Maybe some wine,
Maybe sometime we could hold hands in the park, in the sunshine,
Sometimes,
Be patient with me if I got 3 raves in 1 week,
Or in a studio, away for a week,
One we could book a vacation and leave,
But please: "no drama", I don't need beef like (? )
I'm just focused on making the peas, breaking the team, chasing a
Dream,
I ain't on the street, maybe sometimes,
But you can't say I don't make enough time,
We speak everyday and meet everyweek,
So I dunno. Maybe it's me.
You? you got it planned out,
I don't make plans,
You know me, I wait and I see,
But if we were together, or even now,
If we weren't "sort-of", but were together,
Would you be faithfull to me?
Treat me massage me and make me a tea?
Come link me, lay and wake up from sleep, and look hot like 80
Degrees?
And you know I never say that sort of thing
See? that's an angel to me
I wouldn't have said that before, you get me?
Link em & leave then em high,
I've been tellin all my man's for time,
Link em and then leave em high,
They never take my advice,
But now I realise, I realise why,
They have not been listening all this time,
Cos since I linked you, last night,
I wont be taking my advice
No, no, no, no, no, no
Oh my, my, ow,
Baby we could do this again sometime,
I even have a special name for you,
It's "long baby", cos you always on my mind, yeah.
I'll tell you straight, so straight, yeah,
I won't tell my mates,
No, no, I know, no, I know, oh
Yeah I like you,
Here we,
Here we go again,
Here we,
Here we go again.
The song "Nite Nite" by Kano feat. Leo The Lion is centered around the singer's internal conflict of not being able to commit to a girl despite really liking her. The singer reminisces about a girl he used to call "Ladybird" and how he liked her because she always played red in connect four. He then talks about his current lover, who he calls "Nite Nite" and how he can't commit to her despite liking her so much. He talks about how she has become his favorite, but he still finds it hard to fully commit to her.
The lyrics also describe the singer's fear of losing Nite Nite to someone else. He talks about how he doesn't want any other boys to take her away, and how he wants her to be faithful to him. The singer makes promises to Nite Nite that he will take time for her, be patient with her, and even book a vacation with her, but still can't fully commit. He asks her to treat him nicely and be there for him, even though he struggles to do the same.
Overall, the lyrics of "Nite Nite" explore the internal struggle of not being able to commit to someone you really like, despite wanting to. The catchy beat and memorable chorus make it a popular party anthem, but the lyrics provide depth and thought-provoking ideas about love and commitment.
