Kanye West Lyrics

So now, now, so now, so now
So, so now, now, so now, so now you're too
So now,  now, now, so now, so now, so now
(Woah) so,  so now, now, so now, so now
(Stay on 'em,  stay on 'em)
Uh, uh-um, stay on 'em
(Stay on 'em, stay on 'em) , na, na, na
Stay on 'em (Stay on 'em) , uh stay on em
Sta sta stay on 'em (Stay on 'em) , sta sta
(Doo, doo, doo)

Boy, I ain't waitin' 'round
I ain't waitin' 'round for some handouts
(Handouts)
I'ma always stand out, always stand out
That's hands down (Hands down, woo)
Better tell them boys, better tell them boys
Tell 'em "Stand down" (Stand down)
And that boy soft as hell, hell
'Till he got his man 'round (Man 'round)

Boy behave, ayy, Kobe, ayy, ayy
See the reason why they set him up
'Cause he ain't no slave, ayy
Swear the game cut throat
Cosby, set up, what? Shut up boy, shut up
Our lord has the bandwidth (Da, da, nah)
Please bless us with the bandwidth
(Doo, doo, doo)
Stand with him, he a stand in
We just heard the new Black Star
It's a good time to be a black star
We the children, we the vision, Daytona
Going NASCAR

Biden said you ain't black if you ain't vote
For me and I ain't vote for him
So is that basis to cancel my black card?
'Cept for when Mom visit me
('Cept for when Mom visit me)
I can hear her whisperin', not too long
Just visitin'
Finally in a position that they can't impeach
Finally a transition
I was once chained like tennis piece
He must want me to run
That's why I'm in this positionin'
God must want me the one
Holy Ghost and his Son

Boy, I ain't waitin' 'round
I ain't waitin' 'round for some handouts
(Handouts)
I'ma always stand out, always stand out
That's hands down (Hands down, woo)
Better tell them boys, better tell them boys
Tell 'em "Stand down" (Stand down)
And that boy soft as hell, hell
'Till he got his man 'round (Man 'round)

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Kanye West's song "Precious" convey a sense of empowerment and defiance in the face of adversity. Kanye opens the song by repeating the phrase "So now," suggesting a realization or a moment of clarity. He then emphasizes the importance of staying true to oneself and not relying on handouts or seeking approval from others. He asserts that he will always stand out and be unique, without any hesitation.

Kanye also addresses the idea of being set up or manipulated by others, drawing a parallel with the unfair treatment and conspiracy surrounding Kobe Bryant's untimely death. He compares himself to Kobe, highlighting their shared resistance against being controlled and their refusal to conform.

The lyrics also touch upon broader societal issues. Kanye mentions Bill Cosby, alluding to the entertainer's downfall due to allegations of misconduct. He questions the validity of the accusations and dismisses them as a ploy to bring him down. He also references Joe Biden's controversial statement about black voters, expressing his disagreement and suggesting that his refusal to vote for Biden should not invalidate his "black card."

The song concludes with a reflection on personal growth and faith. Kanye acknowledges his past struggles, symbolized by being "chained like tennis piece," and recognizes that his current position is a result of divine intervention. He attributes his success and transformation to the will of God, declaring himself to be the chosen one, guided by the Holy Ghost and God's son.

Overall, "Precious" is a song that asserts Kanye's individuality, challenges societal norms and expectations, and acknowledges the role of faith in his journey.

@@silver_44 you’re too precious is more on the unique side of James catalogue in my opinion. He has so much range and has so many different vibes he can channel so there’s not much exactly like it, I feel like I’d do a better job recommending you songs if you tell me what exactly about You’re Too Precious do you like? Because overall the song is closer to the songs he made in the beginning of his career which were more electronic and club focused, more simple and repeated lyrics with emphasis on electronic beat manipulation and loops. But what makes you’re too precious unique is that even tho it has the electronic club vibe of his older songs, the vibe and tempo is more up beat and colorful which is something those older songs of his don’t have. A lot of his club/electronic songs are more darker/slower, not really songs that make you feel good and want to dance. I’d say his closest song to you’re too precious in terms of an electronic chill beat that makes you feel good is I’m So Blessed You’re Mine, which is a new song off his new album he recently released a couple months ago.

But let me know what exactly about you’re too precious you like cuz depending on your answer will depend on which other songs of his you’d like. Like I said he has a lot of range which is why I love him so much. If you want to hear his songs that make me say him and Kanye’s style compliment eachother I’d say check out songs like: Waves Know Shores, Assume Form, Mile High, Radio Silence, Funeral (the version with Slowthai), We Might Feel Unsound. - These songs are heavy on being atmospheric/dark, one of his strong points, which is something Kanye does well too, which is why I say I think they’d compliment eachother well on a collaboration.

James Blake produces his songs too and always uses samples in innovative ways which is another thing that makes me correlate him with Kanye. If you like Youre too Precious because of the simple club vibe of it (simple lyrics that are repeated and emphasis on creating a dope electronic beat) I’d say check out songs like : Once We All Agree, Not Long Now, Put That Away And Talk To Me, Radio Silence (again), Take a Fall For Me (has dope verses from the RZA), Mulholland.

He can also play the piano and when he does it’s always a slow melancholy song that he sings while on the piano, check out Vincent, When We’re Older, When The Party’s Over, The Color In Anything.

ALOT of his songs have dark melancholy vibes which is why I love him but if you want something up beat and dope check out Barefoot In The Park (one of the dopest sounding songs he’s ever made), Can’t Believe The Way We Flow, I’ll Come Too, Frozen, Coming Back.

Overall he just has too many dope songs lmao, I’d honestly just say listen to as many songs of his as possible. His last 2 albums (Assume Form and Friends That Break Your Heart) are his best in terms of accessible music that follows a more normal structure, his older albums he gets a little lost in the whole electronic beat manipulation vibe so if you’re not big on that type of sound you probably won’t like a good amount of songs on those albums, but there’s still gems on them regardless.
