Security
Kanye West Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

No, you can't be on my mama album

Pop's home, I ain't gettin' frisked
I put your security at risk
Pop's home, I ain't gettin' frisked
I put your security at risk
I put the security at risk
Okay, we gon' make this an event?
Y'all gon' need security for this

Hmm, yeah, uh
I ain't gettin' frisked
I put your security at risk
I walk in the crib, no gettin' frisked
Butt-naked in the kitchen cookin' grits
Tell your mama, "Come give me a kiss"
Security gon' need security for this

I ain't gettin' frisked
I put your security at risk
I ain't gettin' frisked
Don't put the security at risk

Never take the family picture off the fridge
Never stand between a man and his kids
Y'all ain't got enough security for this
Y'all ain't got enough security for this

I put your security at risk

I make your security acquit
Like, "We don't get paid enough for this"

Overall Meaning

In the song "Security" by Kanye West, the lyrics convey a message of control, power, and confidence. The first verse starts with the line, "No, you can't be on my mama album." This line sets the tone and establishes Kanye's authority over who gets featured on his mother's album. It implies that only those deemed worthy by Kanye himself can be a part of it.

The following lines, "Pop's home, I ain't gettin' frisked, I put your security at risk," reflect Kanye's belief that he is above standard security procedures. He feels that his presence alone is a potential threat to others' security and that his stature and influence make him exempt from such measures. This can be seen as both a boastful statement and a critique on the idea of security itself.

The repetition of the line, "I put your security at risk," reinforces the idea that Kanye's mere presence can cause disruption or challenge the systems in place. He suggests that the security personnel will need additional protection due to the impact he has on their established protocols and structures.

The second verse continues with the theme of confidence and dominance. Kanye boasts about walking into his own home without being frisked, indicating that he has a level of control and freedom that others do not possess. The line, "Butt-naked in the kitchen cookin' grits," paints a vivid image of Kanye's comfort and casualness within his own space, further emphasizing his disregard for typical security measures.

As the verse progresses, the lyrics provoke a sense of playfulness and audacity, as Kanye tells someone to inform their mother to come and kiss him. This can be interpreted as a metaphorical challenge to authority, symbolizing Kanye's ability to transcend boundaries and expectations.

The chorus reinforces Kanye's sense of power and dominance, repeating the line "I ain't gettin' frisked, I put your security at risk." He asserts that his actions disrupt the status quo and pose a threat to established norms. The closing lines, "Never stand between a man and his kids, Y'all ain't got enough security for this, I put your security at risk," make a statement about the importance of family and the lengths Kanye would go to protect them. It reveals his belief that no security measures, no matter how extensive, could ever match his determination and ability to safeguard what he values most.

Overall, "Security" captures Kanye West's confidence and disregard for traditional boundaries. The lyrics suggest that his presence alone is enough to challenge and disrupt established systems, making him an intriguing and unpredictable force to reckon with.

This is absolutely flawless. An example of perfection. You should seriously get hired by the man himself for this one. In my heart, this is THE song. This version is the one I accept.

@Untitled-ee6ks

The part where you put the buzzing sound back in right as he goes “don’t put the security at risk… never take the family picture off the fridge! Never stand between a man and his kids!” DAYUM!!!!! And then the sample of the high key popping in here and there. It literally sounds like the exact thing I imagine Kanye and Mike Dean doing if they actually spent time on this song.
