Originally a drummer also providing backing vocals for alternative/indie band Litterbug in her home town, she had only recently became a singer, and also plays the guitar. This change of direction has revealed a singer of enormous range and power who has been likened by some to a young Joan Armatrading, but who has a unique style of her own. This is coupled with a small number of lyrical and powerful self-written songs.
During the 2006 In the City event in Manchester, Karima Francis performed no less than six times and generated a great deal of both local and industry interest. During early 2007 Karima toured extensively, both as a headline act and in support of other musicians including Seth Lakeman and James Morrison during January and February. She has also performed at showcase events at the SXSW festival in Austin Texas.
In Spring 2007 Karima Francis was signed to the Newcastle based independent label, Kitchenware Records. She is to start work on the recording of her first album in June following the end of her May 2007 tour. The album is to be produced by Ken Nelson who has many major credits (Coldplay, Badly Drawn Boy, Ray Lamontagne...).
Glory Days
Karima Francis Lyrics

I have learnt
There are other sides to learn
The story's heard
And there are winners first
And there are betters worse
And there are listeners
Who are never hurt
At last, I'll stand and I'll shout
Our glory days are over
They're over
At last, I'll stand and I'll shout
Our glory days are over
They're over
No, I can't turn that page for you
But I can't lie
I love you, cause that I do
Along in just to belong
To live today like tomorrow's gone
And they are weak but strong
Who fail but carry on
And if one thing's short for something
They are never wrong
And at the end of all of this
At last, I'll stand and I'll shout
Our glory days are over
They're over
At last, I'll stand and I'll shout
Our glory days are over
They're over
Life is always as hard as we make it
Come take my hand
Let's fly and we're weightless
Let's live today like tomorrow is over
At last, I'll stand and I'll shout
Our glory days are over
They're over
At last, I'll stand and I'll shout
Our glory days are over
They're over
No I can't turn that page for you
Your music has broken me in two
But I can't lie
I love you, cause that I do
The lyrics of Karima Francis's song Glory Days touch on themes of growth, learning, and the passage of time. The singer reflects on what they have learned in life so far, acknowledging that there are always new sides to learn and new perspectives to consider. The lyrics assert that there are winners and losers in life, but also those who simply listen and bear witness to the experiences of others.
As the song progresses, the singer appears to come to a realization that the "glory days" of the past are over. This phrase seems to refer to moments of youthful happiness or carefree living. The singer is ready to move past these memories and the idea that things will ever go "back to the way they were."
Despite this realization, the song is not wholly pessimistic. The final lines suggest that the singer is keen to make the most of the present moment and live life fully, without dwelling on the past or worrying too much about the future.
Overall, Glory Days is a poignant and introspective song that touches on universal experiences of growing up and letting go of the past.

@twinkle3026
Sadly, my friend, some people are just nasty and they seem to thrive on making others feel bad. I too have been through a lot of aggro, due to my under weight appearance. I suffer from Anorexia. These people who like to dish it out, would soon crumble if they had to read bad reviews of themselves on social media. I think Karima is an amazing lady with the most beautiful voice! Very talented! .... Just leave the haters to shrivel and rot. All the best to yourself and to your wonderful cousin. xxxxx

Often one finds untold beauty in the most unexpected places. This is no exception. Her voice just soars and if only for a moment I'm standing there with her. Flying without wings.
