Karl Swensen/Ricky Sorenson Lyrics

Higitus Figitus zumbabazing
I want your attention everything!
We're packing to leave.
Come on, let's go.
No no, not you!
Books are always first, you know.

Hockety pockety wockety wack
Abracabra dabra nack
Shrink in size very small
We've got to save enough room for all
Higitus Figitus migitus mum
Pres-ti-dig-i-ton-i-um!

Cicero you belong to the Cs
Alphabetical order please
Ali-i-ca-fez bal-a-ca-zez
Malacamez meripides
Diminish diminish dictionary
Those words in your vocabulary
Hockety pockety wockety wack
That's the way we have to pack.
Higitus Figitus migitus mum
Pres-ti-dig-i-ton-i-um!

Higitus Figitus zoomacazam
Stop!
Stop!

Don't get in a traffic jam
Sugar bowl you're getting rough
The poor old tea set is cracked enough

Alright let's start again.
Oh, where was I boy?
Ah, hockety pockety?
Oh yes, yes that's right

Hockety pockety wockety wack
Odds and ends and bric a brac
Higitus Figitus migitus mum,
Pres-ti-dig-i-ton-i-um.

Higitus Figitus migitus mum,
Pres-ti-dig-i-ton-i-um!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to "Higitus Figitus" from Karl Swensen and Ricky Sorenson's "The Sword in the Stone" are a fun and whimsical portrayal of a packing exercise that the characters are undergoing. The opening lines, "Higitus Figitus zumbabazing, I want your attention everything!" establish a playful and attention-grabbing tone, with the characters packing various objects into their bags. The lines "Books are always first, you know" suggest the importance of education and knowledge in the characters' lives.

The lines "Hockety pockety wockety wack, Abracabra dabra nack, Shrink in size very small, We've got to save enough room for all" suggest a sort of magical element to the packing, as if the characters are using spells to pack their bags. The repetition of the phrase "Higitus Figitus migitus mum, Pres-ti-dig-i-ton-i-um!" throughout the song further reinforces this idea of magic and whimsy.

The song then takes a humorous turn as the characters struggle to pack various objects, with lines like "Cicero you belong to the Cs, Alphabetical order please" and "Sugar bowl you're getting rough, The poor old tea set is cracked enough" adding a lighthearted and comedic touch. Overall, "Higitus Figitus" is a catchy and playful song that perfectly captures the fun and whimsy of "The Sword in the Stone."

Even Brilliant Bull of the Barnyard Hero Brigade can do the same thing Merlin did during this song he sang.

This is a bit of a nostalgia thing, but I'm looking for the version that doesn't have the line about the sugar bowl. The wizard just just stumbles a bit and says where was I but know one responds and then he keeps going. This version I remember was a 45rpm record I used to play over and over as a kid. If anyone can point me to that version... Also, lol. I always thought it said higgity shmiggity!

@Skyguy’s Reactions No. this isn't it. That one has the line about the sugar bowl. The one I remember just says "no, no, not you, books are always first you know" and the "where was I" is self corrected. There is no comment from the boy. But thanks for the try!

@Firstname Lastname Idk what to tell ya - this is the album I grew up with. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@Skyguy’s ReactionsNo worries. As I said it was a 45RPM single. I didn't even know it was Disney at the time.

Rebecca McGregor

I've used this as a way for kids to pick up their toys while still pretending and "playing a game".  You can't do "Spoon Full of Sugar" ALL the time.  ;)  Thanks for posting.

Rebecca Lemmon That's what I did as a kid =D
