Well I said you're good for nothing
Come on to the back
I said your needles count for something
Guess I'd better sell you now
Guess I'd be around
Singing for your questions
Too much entertainment drove
And that's not all the colour
Tell me that you've seen a ghost
I'll tell you what to fear the most
Stop!
I said it's happening again!
We're all wasting away!
We're all wasting away!
Too much information
Well I said you're good for nothing
Stitch your part of counterfeit
I said your far out here
Taking at the roads
Where you're taken for the simple codes
Swimming with the fishes
While the serpent waves his tongue
With a belly full of splinters
Now you see that I'm the one
Tell me that you've seen a ghost
I'll tell you what to fear the most
Stop!
I said it's happening again!
We're all wasting away!
We're all wasting away!
The lyrics of Kasabian's song "Empire" express anger and frustration towards someone who has caused too much chaos and confusion. The opening lines, "Too much information / Well, I said you're good for nothing," suggest that the recipient of the lyrics is overwhelming the singer with information or actions that are ultimately useless. The line "Come on to the back / I said your needles count for something," may be a reference to drug use, as needles are often associated with drug injection.
As the song continues, the singer accuses the other person of stealing their answers and providing too much entertainment. He warns, "Tell me that you've seen a ghost / I'll tell you what to fear the most," indicating that the other person may be seeing things that aren't there and causing unnecessary fear.
The chorus repeats the phrase "Stop! I said it's happening again! / We're all wasting away!" indicating that the situation has become too much to handle and is causing harm.
The second verse continues with accusations, stating "Stitch your part of counterfeit / I said you're far out here," suggesting that the other person is not authentic or trustworthy. References to swimming with the fishes and a serpent waving its tongue evoke images of danger and betrayal.
Overall, the lyrics of "Empire" express frustration and anger toward someone who is causing chaos and confusion, and warns of the dangers that can come from unchecked behavior.

@EMPIREofYOURdreams
Definitely one of my favourite Kasabian songs. It's so powerful. And Tom's acting is really good.
@dilanrajapaksha
Man I used to love Kasabian when I was young, pretty much around the time you made this comment. Recently I was listening to all the songs I used to like back in the day and I wasn't enjoying them like I used to, including most Kasabian stuff.
But this one song still feels as good as ever
@jenl4841

@maro7997
This video is criminally underrated - one of the best Tom is phenomenal in it really reminds me of Ewan McGregor - really brilliantly directed video and Tom should have had a go at movies!
