Prior to being a recording artist, he was a record store owner and a club DJ at a nightclub in Salt Lake City as a way to make ends meet for him and his wife. After he and his wife moved to San Francisco he landed a job as a A&R man at OM records, where in addition to reviewing demos for the label he also submitted his own material, which would pay off big time for him. In 2001 he went from behind the desk to behind the turntables and the recording studio as an artist in his own right. In 2003 Kaskade released his first album, "It's You It's Me", which was well received by critics.
It would be his follow up, "In The Moment" in 2004, that would put Kaskade on the map. The first single off the set "Steppin' Out" would become a major hit on the Dance Radio Airplay that year as well as a top 10 hit on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. His biggest breakthrough would come the week of May 14, 2005, when his follow up, "Everything," would go all the way to #1 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart.

All the fire burning bright
Water still is rising
Throughout the long nights
Come take my hand
And focus on the light down at the end
Say words to comfort me
Beneath with me
Beneath with me
Beneath with me
Morning grace
Enemies have come together
Miles have gone silent
In the arms of strangers ooh woah
Come take my hand
And focus on the light down at the end
Say words to comfort me
We still have time for hope
That's all we need
Beneath with me
Beneath with me
Beneath with me
Beneath with me
Beneath with me
Beneath with me
The lyrics to Kaskade Deadmau5 Skylar Grey's song "Beneath with Me" capture a sense of danger and urgency, while at the same time expressing hope and the need for comfort. The opening lines, "Can't escape / All the fire burning bright / Water still is rising / Throughout the long nights," suggest an impending disaster that cannot be avoided. The imagery of fire and rising water create a feeling of chaos, while the phrase "Throughout the long nights" implies an enduring struggle.
Despite this danger, the singer offers a glimmer of hope by inviting someone to "come take my hand / And focus on the light down at the end." This suggests that there is a way out of the danger, a path to safety. The line "Say words to comfort me" reveals the singer's vulnerability and need for support. In the face of uncertainty and danger, comfort and hope are the only things that seem to matter. The repeated refrain "Beneath with me" reinforces the idea of safety and refuge, both physical and emotional.
The second verse continues to paint a picture of crisis, describing "Enemies [who] have come together / Miles [that] have gone silent / In the arms of strangers." These lines suggest a breakdown of normal social order, where even enemies have been forced to cooperate, while others find themselves alone and vulnerable. Once again, the invitation to "come take my hand" and the call for comfort and hope are repeated, suggesting that these are the only things that can get someone through such a crisis.
