Santa Come Home
Kate Nauta Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I can't hang the stockings all by myself no no
Santa come home
I'm not asking for too much oh oh oh
If I had just one wish
I'd wish upon a shooting star
That Dasher and Dancer would have you here in my arms
Who's gonna string up the lights on the tree oh oh
Santa come home
I'm getting kinda lonely here in the North Pole
The elves are working hard
The candy canes stay in their lane
But Frosty melted today
And he's sad that you went away
Oooooh make sure you clean your Santa suit
Ooooh got on my red dress for you
You're traveling the world
From Brooklyn to Rome
Baby don't leave me alone
Sant come home
I made you your favorite cocoa
Santa come home
I'm tired of shoveling all the snow all alone
You've never been too late
And I'm banking you'll be right on time
I can't wait to snuggle you
And keep your warm all through the night
Oooh I got a real nice gift for you
Ooooh and you're the one I'll give it to
You're traveling the world
From Brooklyn to Rome
Baby don't leave me alone
Santa come home
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Santa come home
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Santa come home
Ooooh oooh ooooh ooooh
The lyrics of "Santa Come Home" express the singer's longing for Santa Claus to return home for Christmas. She can't hang the stockings by herself and is getting lonely in the North Pole. The singer wishes for Santa to be with her so that they can enjoy the warmth of each other's company. The singer reminisces about their past together and the moments they spent decorating the Christmas tree and how much she misses it. The Elf's are working around the clock, but it just isn't the same without Santa. The singer asks Santa to clean his Santa suit before he comes home, and she has even dressed up for him in a red dress. She pleads with him to return home early, promising him gifts and warmth from her embrace. The song ends with the artist repeating the chorus, hoping for Santa's safe and timely return.
The lyrics to "Santa Come Home" were written by the American singer-songwriter Kate Nauta and released in 2011. The song was released as the third single from her album, "Love Revolver," and features a mix of Pop, Jazz and Blues sounds.
