Katharine McPhee Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Joyful and triumphant,
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem.
Come and behold Him,
Born the King of Angels;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O Sing, choirs of angels,
Sing in exultation,
Sing all that hear in heaven God's holy word.
Give to our Father glory in the Highest;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.
All Hail! Lord, we greet Thee,
Born this happy morning,
O Jesus! for evermore be Thy name adored.
Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.
Katharine McPhee's version of "O Come All Ye Faithful" is a beautiful and traditional Christmas carol. The lyrics of the song call upon people to come to Bethlehem to witness the birth of Jesus Christ, the King of Angels. The first verse of the song urges the faithful to come and behold him, and then the next three verses implore all to sing, praise, and glorify God for giving mankind his son.
The opening line of the song sets the tone for the rest of it, with the words "Joyful and triumphant" reminding us that this is a moment of celebration. After that, the song calls upon us to come to Bethlehem to witness the birth of Christ. The lyrics paint a picture of choirs of angels singing in exultation, and everyone in heaven giving glory to God in the highest. The lyrics remind us that this is a moment of great importance and that we should come together to adore the baby Jesus.
When the song shifts to the third verse, it focuses on the baby Jesus himself, with the lyrics calling him the Word of the Father and urging us to adore him. The final verse of the song reaffirms our adoration for the Christ child and expresses a wish that his name be forever adored.
Overall, "O Come All Ye Faithful" is a beautiful hymn that reminds us of the wonder and joy of Christmas. Katharine McPhee's version of the song is a lovely rendition that captures the spirit of the original.
