1. KEITH ANDERSON was born in the rural town of Miami Oklahoma. He excelled in academics and sports while courting a great love for music and performing. He began his college years at Oklahoma State University, where he received the Top Ten Freshman Award and went on to graduate at the top of his class in Construction Engineering with a 3.9 GPA. He also placed second in the Mr. Oklahoma bodybuilding competition and was selected for the Oklahoma All-State football team. He joined the OSU baseball team and secured a slot on the draft list of the Kansas City Royals. But after a shoulder injury ended his pursuit of a professional baseball career, he became more passionate about music, honing his writing and performing talents. After graduating from OSU in 1990, he took a position with a top construction engineering company. A year and a half later, he left for physical therapy school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. However, his scholastic efforts and serious study habits were constantly challenged by his desire for a musical career. For the first time in his life, he decided to concentrate on singing and writing country music. He moved to Nashville in the late 1990s and regularly played the city's best-known music clubs. In 2002, he won the 10th annual Jim Beam Country Band Search held at the Wildhorse Saloon. That same year, Garth Brooks and George Jones recorded a hit duet of "Beer Run (B Double E Double Are You In?)," which Anderson wrote with Kent Blazy, George Ducas, Amanda Williams and Kim Williams. The duet received Grammy, CMA and ACM nominations. In 2004, Gretchen Wilson included Anderson's composition "The Bed" on her debut album, Here for The Party, co-written by Vicky McGehee and Big & Rich's John Rich. His own solo album Three Chord Country & American Rock & Roll was released in 2005. His debut single "Pickin' Wildflowers" reached the Top Ten country charts. His second single "XXL" is climbing the charts. It is also his first CCM single that went to #15.

After she had me
It took two nurses to hold me
One nurse to slap me
Doctor turned to mama
And shook his head
Wiped the sweat off his brow
And then he said
As far as I can tell
Ooh, brrr, mama he's a double XL"
By the second grade
I was five foot two
Fifth grade, I was wearin'
A size-twelve shoe
Eighth grade, I was shoppin'
At The Big And Tall
And the coaches had me playin'
High school football
Uncle Roy said, "Boy you'll make the NFL
Ooh brrr son, you're a double XL
[Chorus:]
Double XL, double XL
Don't call me on the phone
Just ring my dinner bell
Double XL, double XL
I'm a lean, mean love machine
That likes to be held
Ooh brrr baby, I'm a double XL
Here we go
County cuties in Texas
String bikinis in Florida
Barbie dolls drivin Lexus' out in California
A skinny, little pretty boy
Ain't what they wanna hold
They want a real man
With meat on his bones
I'll yank their Yankees
Ring their southern bells
They say, "Ooh brrr
We love a double XL"
[Chorus x2]
Well if you have any doubts
Come see for yourself
Why all the girls love a double XL
Ooh brrr, yeah I'm a double XL
Yeah, oh whoa
Triple XL too
The song "XXL" by Keith Anderson is a fun and lighthearted tune that embraces a big and tall stature. The lyrics begin with the singer's birth, where the doctor describes him as a "double XL", indicating that he was already a big baby. As he grows up, the lyrics describe how he reaches over six feet tall by the second grade, already a size twelve shoe by fifth grade, and eventually playing high school football as a big and tall athlete. Throughout the verses, the chorus emphasizes his size, proclaiming "I'm a lean, mean love machine that likes to be held" and "why all the girls love a double XL". The final lyrics are "Triple XL too", indicating that the singer keeps growing even after high school.
The lyrics of this song are clever and humorous, embracing the idea that being big and tall is something to be proud of. The song celebrates this physical trait instead of apologizing for it, which is a refreshing change from the often negative body image messages that we hear in popular music. It offers a playful perspective on the singer's life experiences, with lines such as "I'll yank their Yankees, ring their southern bells" suggesting that the singer is not intimidated by anyone, and that his size and confidence are an asset.
Overall, "XXL" is an entertaining and uplifting song that encourages listeners to embrace their unique physical traits and characteristics, whatever they may be.

This song fits a kid I went to school with. However, he is harmless in sports. Teams were terrified until they figured out he was as vicious as a teddy bear.
