Kelvyn was born in Fulda, Germany but relocated to Wiesbaden, fellow artists ScHoolboyQ and J Cole are from the same area. Colt moved to London in 2015 to pursue his music career, after dropping out of law school. Releasing his first songs and performing on Colors, he signed with Sony Music Germany in 2016. His first shows were in London, where he lived until he started going back and forth between Berlin, London, Paris and Los Angeles.
His debut EP "LH914", named after his oneway ticket to London, was critically & commercially acclaimed and contained his biggest hit to date "Bury Me Alive". The song peaked on 1 in the American Shazam Charts. Subsequently, Colt sold out his European tour in 2019, besides performing at SXSW and touring in China, as the first German artist to do so.
After releasing his 2nd EP "Mind Of Colt, Pt. 1", he bought himself out of his record deal and the rights to his catalogue, starting his own label. Kelvyn was named by Forbes Magazine as one of the 30 most influential European artists in 2020, besides being on the cover of the magazine in Germany. He recently announced partnering with longterm Kanye West associate Che Pope to work on his next project.

1. Perma Autotune doesnt mean anything. Every mainstream rapper uses it at this point and I dont know why this is something bad? I thought we left the "Cher-time" behind, where everybody saw autotune as cheating and something bad.
2. I cant see where he stole his flow from. Obviously it sounds similar to other american rappers but thats just how you rap on trap records. As a matter of fact his flow is very innovative imo because hes adding some german lines into it.
3. If you wanna listen to deep lyrics go listen to someone like Kendrick Lamar, J.Cole, 2Pac, Biggie, ... you name it. You clearly dont understand the current trap/ modern rap scene if you expected this song to have some crazy deep lyrics.
4. The reason why I think he will blow up is because the music hes been making lately is very well produced. The beats are great the vocal performance is great the Videos are made proffesional and its an overall great track.
This year german rappers will try their best to get into the American Music Industrie (e.g. Gzuz with his Music Video on World-Star, Cro who said in a recent Interview he wants German Music on the global market again (like in the 90s with Modern Talking, Kraftwerk, Nena,...) and even Fler with the Rick Ross feature.)
If you follow Colts Instagram you would know that streaming services like Spotify promote his music a lot, by adding him into the big Hip Hop playlists.)
Of course he wont be the next Drake or an Internet sensation like Tekashi this year but I think that he will get a lot of attention from brands or other rappers which will lead to him blowing up :)
