Boothe seemed, at the time, to have the makings of an international, long-lasting, hit maker, certainly when compared to most of the other latter-day reggae acts. His smoother style gave him a wider appeal, rather like UB40 and Aswad. Boothe's choice of songs also showed the breadth of his musical taste. But for all that, he only managed one more hit in the UK Chart, "Crying over You", which made Number 11.
In more recent times, Boothe has also recorded for Bunny Lee, Phil Pratt, King Jammy, Pete Weston, Jack Ruby, Hugh "Red Man" James, Castro Brown, and Tappa Zukie. Plus in 1995, he teamed up with Shaggy, for a new styled version of his old track, "The Train Is Coming", which appeared on the soundtrack of the film, Money Train.
A double-disc overview of Boothe's Trojan years, Crying over You, was released by the label in 2001.

Time Passage
Ken Boothe Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
About the way things bought to be
He would spend his whole life
Trying to bring this to reality
Excercise the brain pay need to its claim
Don't you ever let your sorrow get you down
No need to worry about things
You can carry up
Seems you're in a time passage
Blind time passage
Yeah, calling our for freedom
Time passage
Time passage yeah
Time passage
Don't you give up from your trying fame
Know yourself like you know your name
You're a part of it but don't you be
Can't you ever be afraid to claim
Your freedom sing it out your freedom
Oah, y'all you got to be free
Yeah, your freedom call it out
Don't you give up from your trying fame
Know yourself like you know your name
You're a part of it but don't you be
Can't you ever be afraid to claim
Your freedom sing it out your freedom
Oah, y'all you got to be free
Yeah, your freedom call it out.
The lyrics of Ken Boothe's song "Time Passage" convey a message of empowerment and resilience. The opening line suggests that every person has a vision or ideal of how things should be, and they spend their lives striving to make that vision a reality. The line "He would spend his whole life trying to bring this to reality" indicates the determination and dedication needed to create the desired changes.
The lyrics emphasize the importance of mental strength and not letting sorrow or worries hold you back. It encourages the listener to exercise their brain and pay attention to its needs. The phrase "No need to worry about things you can carry up" suggests that instead of focusing on burdens that are within one's control, it is better to focus on positive actions and solutions.
The repeated refrain of "Time passage" suggests that life is fleeting and that one should make the most of their time. It signifies the notion that time is constantly moving forward and urges the listener to seize the opportunity to make a difference. The line "Seems you're in a time passage, blind time passage" could suggest that sometimes we are unaware of the fleeting nature of time, but we should strive to make the most of it anyway.
In summary, the song "Time Passage" encourages listeners to chase their dreams, not be weighed down by negativity, and embrace their freedom.
