He is currently in the bands FAKE? and Oblivion Dust.
With an English father and a Japanese mother, Ken Lloyd had an international sensibility that comes from having grown up in Tokyo and London. A self-proclaimed former-guitarist, Lloyd's announcement that he join up the band Oblivion Dust as a vocalist in 1996 came while in a drunken stupor. As a message to his mother and father, who expressed concerns about his future, he printed the message "currently disobeying my parents" on his pick, but there was no reaction. On stage he comes across as a real "natural".
In September 23rd, 2001, Oblivion Dust disbanded. He then joined up with INORAN ex-Luna Sea and formed FAKE?. INORAN eventually left the band but the band has continued on without him.
In January 2008, Oblivion Dust reunited with K.A.Z. on guitar and Rijiki on bass to release a self titled album. Oblivion dust will release a two track single on August 28th, 2008 titled "GIRL IN MONO" with a B-Side, "BED OF ROSES."
Sweetness
Ken Lloyd Lyrics

Something’s going on out there
Oh let your beauty flow out
Oh let me feel the warm inside
Oh baby please…
Yeah I’ve tried some things that didn’t work out
Truth can’t undo this
Can’t escape the feeling we are lost
Drifting apart
Our little Eden is hurt
From the depths we’ve got to see
It’s time we try and mend the story
So let the mystery hum
I hear it glisten all around me
It never faded
Can you hear?
Do you care?
I trapped my wishes in a seed
I’m gonna be there by the crossing
And now, mercy to those with broken souls
We need to heal them softly
Drown out the sorrow
All the ache
Let it fade out of here
Nurture that seed to a flame
Burn it for all to see
Undo inertia and sway with me
Give me that sweetness…
One chance to fix up what we broke
So give it meaning, give it hope
I just wanna make it known
All we need is sweetness
Forgive the ones that caused you pain
Go forward and illuminate
Don’t waste your energy on hate
It’s time we spread that sweetness
From all the lives that we’ve been dealt
All those emotions that I felt
Can we admit we tried it all and now
Now we try some sweetness
Ah some of that sweetness
Some of that sweetness yeah
Beauty and sweetness
Give that warm embrace
Before it’s far too late
Spread it out
Sweetness
Spread it out
Spread it out
Sweetness
Spread it out
Spread it out
Sweetness yeah
These lyrics convey a message of hope, love, and the desire for unity amidst a world filled with difficulties and challenges. The singer urges someone, possibly a loved one, to come forward and join him in facing the unknown. There is a longing for their beauty to shine and for a feeling of warmth and closeness to be reestablished between them. The plea for connection and intimacy is emphasized with the repeated plea of "Oh baby please..."
The second verse reflects on past failures and disappointments, acknowledging that the truth cannot erase the pain or mend the current state of their relationship. Despite this, the singer proclaims the need to keep moving forward, refusing to give in to the feeling of being lost and drifting apart. The reference to their "little Eden" being hurt suggests that their once blissful and harmonious existence has been damaged.
The following lines emphasize the need for understanding and healing. The singer recognizes the depths of their current situation and states that it's time to try and repair their story. The "mystery hum" referred to represents the potential for change and redemption, something vibrant and alive that surrounds them but might not be fully understood. The singer asks if the other person can also hear its presence and if they care enough to embark on this journey of healing together.
The final verse focuses on the power of love and forgiveness. The singer mentions trapping their wishes in a seed, symbolizing the potential for growth and transformation. They express their determination to be present and supportive, being at the "crossing" to meet halfway and reconcile. They appeal for mercy towards those with broken souls, emphasizing the need to heal gently and drown out sorrow and pain. The lyrics urge for the nurturing of this seed of hope into a flame that can be seen by all, demonstrating the importance of displaying kindness and spreading that sweetness in the world. The song concludes with a plea to fix what has been broken, forgive those who have caused pain, and to approach life with compassion and love rather than wasting energy on hate.

Come forward baby
Step into the forefront, my love
Something’s going on out there
There is something significant happening beyond our immediate surroundings
Oh let your beauty flow out
Allow your inner beauty to radiate outward
Oh let me feel the warm inside
Allow me to experience the warmth within you
Oh baby please…
I implore you, my love
Yeah I’ve tried some things that didn’t work out
I have attempted various endeavors that did not succeed
Truth can’t undo this
The truth cannot reverse the situation
So I keep me pushing along
Therefore, I persist and continue moving forward
Can’t escape the feeling we are lost
We cannot shake off the sensation of being adrift
Drifting apart
Moving away from each other
Our little Eden is hurt
Our cherished paradise is damaged
From the depths we’ve got to see
We must gain perspective from the depths of our being
It’s time we try and mend the story
Now is the moment to repair our narrative
So let the mystery hum
Allow the enigmatic nature to resonate
I hear it glisten all around me
I perceive its shimmering presence everywhere
It never faded
It has never diminished
Can you hear?
Do you perceive?
Do you care?
Do you feel deeply?
I trapped my wishes in a seed
I preserved my desires within a seed
I’m gonna be there by the crossing
I will be present at the intersection
And now, mercy to those with broken souls
And currently, granting compassion to those with shattered spirits
We need to heal them softly
We must gently mend their wounds
Drown out the sorrow
Submerge the sorrow
All the ache
Every ounce of pain
Let it fade out of here
Allow it to dissipate from this place
Nurture that seed to a flame
Cultivate that seed into a blazing fire
Burn it for all to see
Illuminate it for everyone to witness
Undo inertia and sway with me
Overturn resistance and move rhythmically with me
Give me that sweetness…
Grant me that delightful essence
One chance to fix up what we broke
A singular opportunity to repair what we have damaged
So give it meaning, give it hope
Therefore, impart significance and optimism to it
I just wanna make it known
I simply desire to communicate it
All we need is sweetness
What we truly require is affectionate kindness
Forgive the ones that caused you pain
Pardon those who have inflicted suffering upon you
Go forward and illuminate
Continue onward and radiate light
Don’t waste your energy on hate
Do not squander your energy on hatred
It’s time we spread that sweetness
Now is the moment to propagate that tenderness
From all the lives that we’ve been dealt
Derived from all the lives we have been given
All those emotions that I felt
All those emotions that I have experienced
Can we admit we tried it all and now
Can we acknowledge that we have attempted everything and now
Now we try some sweetness
Now we strive for some sweetness
Ah some of that sweetness
Ah, a portion of that sweetness
Some of that sweetness yeah
A measure of that sweetness, indeed
Beauty and sweetness
Both beauty and tenderness
Give that warm embrace
Bestow that affectionate embrace
Before it’s far too late
Before it becomes excessively delayed
Spread it out
Disseminate it widely
Sweetness
Love and kindness
Spread it out
Extend it broadly
Spread it out
Disperse it freely
Sweetness
Affection and compassion
Spread it out
Distribute it abundantly
Spread it out
Propagate it extensively
Sweetness yeah
Love and tenderness, yes

One of the things that has always struck me about Ken Lloyd's musical projects is the level of musical understanding in creating catchy melodies that captivate you and he still preserves that way of making music like the old school on certain occasions, with elaborate intros and outros, or in this case, he surprises you with an unusual length for a first single as a solo debut. It's good to see Ken Lloyd creating songs that accompany people more directly, especially in chaotic times like these. In this sense, this gift is greatly appreciated 🙏.
