Born in Atlanta but raised in Los Angeles, Kent Jamz first founded OverDoz. in 2008 alongside Cream, Joon, and P. Following a slew of mixtapes, the outfit signed a deal with RCA and dropped their debut album, 2008, in 2017. Following the album's release, Jamz started working with fellow L.A. rapper Buddy, who had been introduced to Jamz by Pharrell Williams a few years earlier. The pair, who had bonded over music, started to help each other write and produce their own solo albums just before the COVID-19 pandemic hit. With both projects put on hold, they issued the collaborative EP Janktape, Vol. 1 as a precursor to their own material. Jamzβs debut album eventually dropped in 2022, with Fanclub featuring collaborations with the likes of GoodJoon (aka Joon), Buddy, and A$AP Ferg. ~ Rich Wilson, Rovi

Been rockin' that Bape way back in 2008
Niggas actin' like groupies, tryna get backstage
Muhfuckas just takin' up space
Changed my Vans and the skates
Hit World on Wheels, Tuesday's I'm goin' on dates
I don't gotta shop at the mall, or camp out with y'all
They send the shit, straight to my place
Yeah this that chain stitch, human made shit
Got no patience for that fake shit
Goin' ape shit, in a cactus plant
Flea market, with Jorja Smith
In the camo prints, smokin' cannabis
Finna take her back to the Mondrian, and I (yeah, look)
Can't stop, won't stop
'Til I'm smokin' weed with RiRi
At the Studi- fox, my cargos, need the mileage, bish
See my goal, goal, from '04, you can't cop it
Cats tried to copy
Like I ain't been in Jumpmans since walkmans and floppys
And I need India Love in my hotel suite
With nothing on but a Bape thong and my three peat hoodie
Everything say B-A-P-E
Everything got red box, Supreme on it, uh
She said why? She said why, why?
Why everything say B-A-P-E?
Why everything got red box, Supreme on it?
Uh Hypebeast, yeah uh
(B-a-p-e) I need Virgil to sign my Off-White, uh (red box Supreme)
Say I need Karrueche in my room tonight, yeah, ooh
I need Scott to put all my shit to the side
And more custom BAPE, snowboard, gettin' it tonight, yeah (yeah)
These-these niggas ain't startin' no waves
These niggas ain't startin' no waves
Yeah, it's in the heat club, in the heat club
It's a whole 'nother wave on the way
It's a whole 'nother wave on the way
Whole 'nother wave on the way
It's a whole 'nother wave on the way
It's a whole 'nother wave on the way
It's a whole 'nother wave on the way
Whole 'nother wave on the way
It's a whole 'nother wave on the way

He emphasizes his individuality and independence, noting that he doesn't need to shop at malls or camp out for limited edition releases because everything is sent directly to him. Kent Jamz also references his love for skateboarding and his affinity for the skate culture, mentioning World on Wheels and going on dates on Tuesdays.
The lyrics further showcase Kent Jamz's futuristic mindset, describing his team as futuristic and his dreams as visionary. He values authenticity and craftsmanship, expressing his preference for chain stitch and human-made clothing. He has no patience for fake or inauthentic behavior and goes "ape shit" in a cactus plant, indicating his wild and free attitude. He mentions spending time at a flea market with Jorja Smith, hinting at a casual and laid-back approach to fashion.
Kent Jamz also drops references to various fashion brands, including Bape, Supreme, and Off-White, highlighting his affinity for high-end streetwear. He desires to have celebrity encounters, such as smoking weed with Rihanna and having India Love in his hotel suite. He expresses admiration for Virgil Abloh and desires to have his Off-White items signed by him.
