Someone who relies on you
We started out as friends
But the thought of you just caves me in
the symptoms are so deep
It is much too late to turn away
We started out as friends
Across my heart
I want you to be my baby
Sign your name
Across my heart
I want you to be my lady
Time I'm sure will bring
Disappointments in so many things
It seems to be the way
When your gambling cards on love you play
I'd rather be in hell with you baby
Than in cool heaven
It seems to be the way
Sign your name
Across my heart
I want you to be my baby
Sign your name
Across my heart
I want you to be my lady
Birds never look into the sun
Before the day is done
But oh the light shines brighter
On a peaceful day
Stranger blue leave us alone
We don't want to deal with you
We'll shed our stains showering
In the room that makes the rain
All alone with you
Makes the butterflies in me arise
Slowly we make love
And the earth rotates
To our dictates
Slowly we make love
Sign your name
Across my heart
I want you to be my baby

Kevin Lyttle’s song “Sign Your Name” talks about his deep and intense love for someone. The lyrics portray the idea that the person he loves is truly dependable and he can rely on them. The song is about a relationship between two people who started out as friends but have now realized that they are in love with each other.
The first verse of the song highlights the singer's deep affection for their counterpart. He says that they started out as friends but he can no longer resist his feelings for this person, and their symptoms run deep. He also says that it is too late, and that he cannot turn his feelings off. All he wants is for this person to sign their name across his heart and be with him.
The second verse speaks about the ups and downs that come with love. The singer says that time will bring disappointments and setbacks but that he would rather face them with this person than be alone. He says that he would rather be in hell with this person than in heaven without them.
The song ends with the two expressing their love through intimacy. The singer describes how they are affectionate with each other, and how their love is so powerful that even the earth rotates to their dictates. The song closes with him asking the person he loves to sign their name across his heart and be with him always.
