Walk Away
Kevin Martin Lyrics

Your lips would taste my pain
Losing my mind
Tonight your suffering
Who song could sing?
What you need to see
That my "sometimes" and my "lovers" read
But tonight
If we just walked away
But tonight
If we just walked away
And if I could cry
My tears would tell you things
Have you seen loss?
Have I changed everything?
If we just walked away
But tonight
If we just walked away
If we just walked away
If you just walked away
If I could lie
My heart won't break the same
But tonight
If you just walked away
If you just walked away
If you just walked away
The lyrics of Kevin Martin and the Hiwatts's song "Walk Away" evoke intense emotions and a sense of detachment that captures the essence of a relationship falling apart. The singer describes the pain and loss of a love gone wrong, as their lips would taste their pain if they could talk, and their tears would reveal the depth of their hurt if they could cry. The singer wonders what song could sing about the things they need to see, and their "sometimes" and "lovers" read. However, despite the turmoil and chaos, the singer realizes that they haven't lost anything yet, and that if they could just walk away, things could be simpler.
The chorus repeats the sentiment of walking away, emphasizing the desire to detach and be free from the pain and uncertainty that the relationship has brought. The repetition of the line "if we just walked away" underscores the idea that sometimes the best thing to do is to let go and move on, even though it may be painful.
Overall, "Walk Away" is a poignant reflection of the complexities of love and relationships, and the difficulty of letting go when things don't work out. It is a testament to the human struggle of vulnerability and detachment, and the healing power of acceptance and moving on.
